I am so happy to have found Pilgrim Wood as a home for my Dad. It's a lovely old style home with secure idyllic outdoor space in the countryside. The staff treat guests as family and took Dad out for walks every day on the North downs. It was a lovely setting to visit him and the home was relaxed about visiting days and times even inviting me to have lunch with Dad free of charge. The touch that made this home special was when Dad was in his final week. There was always a member of staff at the hospital keeping him company and just a video call away from me. The staff were genuinely upset to lose him and were pleased to host the wake at the home. I'm eternally grateful that they gave him a wonderful final two years at Pilgrim Wood

The manager and her team at Pilgrim Wood looked after my mother after she developed Dementia in 2022. She lived at Pilgrim Wood for just over two years. Whilst the home is a bit shabby and some things took quite a bit of time, it proved to be a welcoming home for my mother when she was at a very vulnerable stage of her life. The care team that looked after Mum were very able, kind and treated her with dignity. The home let us decorate the room in a colour of our choice, choose curtains and carpet that Mum liked. It also allows residents to take their own furniture if that fits. All of this was key to choosing this home for Mum as her surroundings were very important to her. The home sits in the countryside and the room that we chose for Mum had a view over the countryside that was beautiful. I feel that the home, being privately run, is unique. There are two other definite plusses: the food often smelt delicious and they have pet cats. It was a lovely home for Mum at the end of her life.

I could not have wished for a more caring and kindly home for my wife who had Alzheimer's. She moved there in September 2022 but died very suddenly and unexpectedly in January 2023. Not surprisingly, it took her a few weeks to settle but after a while, she came to regard it as home. It is a lovely old house, a bit shabby but more homely for that, set in a large garden with beautiful views of the Surrey Hills. Busy though they were, nothing seemed too much trouble for the management and staff. When our daughter came back from Australia to visit her at the end of November, quite unasked, they put on a little pre-Christmas tea party for us family.

My mum had been at Pilgrim Wood for nearly 2 years. She absolutely loved it, she loved the staff, the food, her room, everything about it, as did I.

She was so happy there and for me, it was a pleasure to go there and see her enjoying her last 2 years. So thank you to all the staff and the beautiful Pilgrim Wood. I can't thank you enough.

My mother was admitted to Pilgrim Wood in January 2020, just before lockdown happened. This was to be her future home. As a family, we were made very welcome. The virus has stopped us experiencing time spent with her and experiencing the social side of her care. My sister and I are happy with the choice of the care home we made. The people are dedicated in their work and are caring beyond measure. We are comforted our dear mother is in their charge.

Upon my last visit to Pilgrim Wood I was impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere, the plentiful light in the living room/s, and the attentiveness of staff on duty. I am always encouraged by the efficiency of the staff who keep me well informed about my mother's condition. She has been a resident for over four years and I'm very happy with the care and consideration she receives at Pilgrim Wood. They understand her needs and she knows them, and that's a great source of relief for a relative. Mum has seemed much more cheerful in the last year or two. Pilgrim Wood offers a home atmosphere, something I wanted for her at the time of choosing a care service. Things have only gotten better. More activities. More opportunities to go on outings. More organised visits by young people to keep in touch across the generations. Overall, I'm delighted with Pilgrim Wood's care.

In her three years at Pilgrim Wood, my mother has received the most excellent and compassionate care. The onset of her Alzheimer's was very rapid but since moving to Pilgrim Wood her condition has stabilized, thanks to the understanding and knowledgeable staff. She enjoys the warm homely atmosphere and lovely garden, as well as the excellent food and, is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

I would like to comment on the professional and compassionate care received by my mother at Pilgrim Wood. In her last months at the home, she was very disabled and totally dependent on the staff. She was treated with kindness, dignity and respect and also was able to develop a rapport with individual staff, because of the continuity in staffing. This gave her and all the family confidence that her needs were known and considered and that she was amongst friends.

My mum particularly liked the home cooked food and fresh vegetables, as well as desserts and home baked cakes. The last food I helped her to eat was a beautiful fresh banana mousse and a dish of chopped nectarines and pears... because she loved fruit.

The home has been recently redecorated in parts and is very clean. It has been a very positive experience seeing exactly what care can be provided to a vulnerable older person, who was never made to feel that way but always treated with friendliness, humour and respect.
