We feel so lucky to have found such a kind and caring home for our mother. Before she came to Crowborough Lodge she was so anxious and confused. We were surprised how quickly she settled in and she says how much she likes the home and how comfortable she feels. She has a lovely room with a sea view.

The staff are warm and caring and I can see how safe that makes our mother feel. There is a nice atmosphere and they often have group activities, for example. making pumpkins at Halloween, baking cakes, crafts and nice summer activities in the garden. I would definitely recommend Crowborough Lodge to anyone who is looking for a care home, with a solid staff team and a kind and welcoming environment the residents are in good hands.

Mum has spent 3 respite spells of 10 days each time over the last 18 months. Everyone at Crowborough Lodge is friendly and welcoming and there is a homely feel from the minute you come through the door. The rooms are well appointed and many have lovely views of the sea.

Overall Experience
Our mother, Jean, was in the CL Residential Care Home from June 2024 to August 2025.
She initially went in just for Respite Care but it was clear that she was happy there and very well looked after - so the Respite Care became Permanant Care.
We were very pleased with the Care Home team and the way in which they kept us up to date with any issues and the way that they all looked after Mum at all times.
As Mum became very weak and died in August 2025, the Team were very empathetic and made sure that Mum was never alone for too long.
They handled her last month and eventual passing very well. Liaising with the medical teams and Authorties as necessary.

Thank you.

I had to pick a month to review but, from the 1st day I felt very happy with the care my mum would receive. 4 years on I'm still very happy with my choice of home, I looked at many. I knew as soon as I walked into it and spoke with the staff that it was the one I wanted for mum.
