Overall Experience
Mum was moved to St Winefreds after her Alzheimer's became untenable at home. She settled in quickly and our weekly visits (Due to distance) were for the most part really good. Occasional UTI's (Common with Alzheimer's)
Mum was happy, always trying to help the staff, and most importantly was safe and cared for.

She felt like she was at home and not 'in' a home. If anything happened we were kept informed throughout. We've now found a home 10 minutes away otherwise we would have been more than happy for mum to see out her time at St Winefride's.

My Mum resided at St Winefrides for 3 1/2 years until her passing in October. From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with warmth and genuine kindness. The staff go above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable and valued. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, Mum often said it felt "like home". Activities are thoughtfully planned to keep everyone engaged, and Mum loved the meals. Communication with me was excellent, giving peace of mind that Mum was in caring hands. Its clear that dignity and respect are at the heart of everything the staff do. St Winefrdes truly provides not just care, but a sense of community and belonging. Thank you all for being such an important part of our lives. X

After a lengthy hospital stay it was agreed that mum would benefit form a respite stay at St Winifred's during which time she settled in well, albeit we all collectively agreed that the best option for mum due to her health being in decline that she would remain at St Winnies. Hand on heart a relief for me and I think it's fair to say for mum. The whole team at Winnies supporting and caring for mum in a way that can only be described as being 1st class.

My mother was placed in a home that knocked her confidence out of her with her mobility and isolated her in the room. St Winefrides here worked hard with mum and got her walking again and enjoying the many activities provided. As well as keeping a keen eye on a health, the staff's encouragement and support as well as dignity and respect towards mum has brought her a better quality of life. As a live abroad they keep me updated and send photos giving peace of mind.

My father recently celebrated his 80th birthday at St Winefride's. My brother and I are so grateful to the amazing staff who made it such a special occasion for him. We arrived to find a party in full swing, with live music and dancing. The Birthday Boy was proudly wearing his badge and sash, happily celebrating with all his new friends: both fellow residents and staff. A delicious chocolate cake was served to all guests and Dad said it was the best birthday he could have asked for.

Thank you, everyone at St Winefride's - we are so grateful to you all!

I visted my nan for the first time yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised by the lovely, welcoming atmosphere. All staff were engaging beautifully with the service users. My nan, in particular, for the first time in a long while, my nan appears content. She is clearly being cared for extremely well and I am so grateful to the team at St Winefrides.

When I first entered this residential home, the airy brightness hit me and was so clean everywhere. We were greeted and shown around. The room that was available was amazing. At that point I so hoped it would be suitable for my brother. A few weeks down the line. And he's moved in. It was everything I could have wished for. Warm, homely, caring and extremely kind staff who go above and beyond. My brother now has an extended family xx

The first thing you notice is how clean the home is and very bright and airy. The staff are very friendly and are always smiling. The decor is in very good condition, the most important thing is the staff are very kind. They can't do enough for the residents. I would highly recommend.

My daughter and I visited her father. We had to phone for directions, getting lost in the roads around. We were greeted most warmly, shown to his room with a photo of him on the door and we were given a hot drink. His room was impeccably clean and tidy. He told us that he was very happy there but impossibly wanted to go home. We all went to their sitting room, where we met some friendly cats who visited there everyday, a clear favourite. We even joined in with a Christmas sing along led by staff. We have no qualms about him there.

My dad needed emergency respite placement and was welcomed at St Winefrides by the warm, kind, and attentive staff. He was reluctant to leave home and to my relief quickly settled into his room, has been eating well, joining in activities, and also enjoying quiet time when he feels like watching TV on his own. The staff are excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive and I am comforted he is in caring and safe hands.

My dad required an emergency placement due to his needs as he could no longer live at home. The assessment of his needs was very comprehensive, we were able to visit St Winefrides prior to my dad moving there and ask as many questions as we needed. Since moving there, my dad has consistently said the staff are very kind, to our relief he has started eating and sleeping again and he has been encouraged to personalise his room. Our thanks to the staff at St Winefrides.

The management and carers in St Winefrides, have been amazing. Our dad has been in St Winefrides for two and a half years, and he has been looked after. They have also been supportive to our family. We could not have wished for him to of been in a nicer place. Extremely looked after by a great team, and on visiting times they always made us welcome. Thank you so much.

My father was a resident at St Winefrides for 7 years until his recent passing. We chose St Winefrides as a final end of life residence after a short stay in hospital. They showed extra care for this emotional time, and made his room lovely for his arrival for end of life. The experience was welcome, and appreciated. They dealt with his needs without hesitation, and I would recommend anyone to chose this as an option at this difficult time.
