Both of my parents have been in Tamar House since August 25 and the care that they receive is of the highest quality. Every member of staff treat my parents as if they were their family, I cannot ask for more than that. Whenever I go to the home it is always clean, warm and welcoming. The food in the home is wonderful, home cooked and nutritious. Both my parents always comment on how well fed they are. There are always lots of different activities and trips happening which they enjoy. The staff do all they can to make this a family centred home which they have definately achieved. As a family we are very happy with the care that they receive and are very thankful to all the wonderful staff who are superbly managed by Katie, nothing is too much trouble for any of them.

My husband has been at The Tamar for about 18 months. The home is clean and tidy and my husbands clothers are clean and his personal care is very good. The staff are brilliant they always going something with all residents. They make you very welcome when visiting. The food is very good and always a good portion. The manager Katie is wonderful always trying to make residents happy. She takes some residents out to have a walk round the town and to have a coffee.

I can't thank the staff enough for the support and caring for dad. Dad has complex needs but you gave him to confidence to go things he doesn't usually do. Dad doesn't usually go out so the care you gave him made it so easy for him to adjust and fit in. Such a great team. Nothing was ever too much and we thank you. I'm sure dad will need respite again and I would always pick your care home for respite.

The manager and staff at Tamar House couldn't have done more to ensure that my mother is given loving care on a daily basis. She has now been at Tamar House for six months and has settled well into the lovely community here. She is treated with dignity and respect, and as much as possible, the manager and staff have created a homely environment to live in. I have also witnessed other residents being treated in the same way on my frequent visits. The activities provided on a daily basis provide the engagement and contact she very much needs. Moving your Mum into a care home is one of the hardest things you ever have to do, but I know I can rest easy knowing she is secure and being well looked after.

The care my husband received during the last months of his illness was excellent. The staff cared not just for him but for us as a family also. We cannot commend them highly enough.

Such a lovely care home, the staff are all amazing and always very attentive to everyone’s needs. Mum is really happy there, she loves the food, and all the lovely activities which are always taking place. She has improved so much since living there, she has made good friends with residents and has a great rapport with staff too. It is a very happy place and always has a lovely atmosphere when we visit. Great to see residents are encouraged to carry out their hobbies e.g. mum has always loved her garden so she has been doing lots in their beautiful garden. Highly recommended!

Wonderfully, caring team, activity’s and entertainment are very good. The food is excellent with a good variety with an excellent breakfast. The garden is an excellent feature and enjoyed by the residents in the summer months. The car parking is rather limited, but the location in the town makes it great to be able to take residents for a walk on the prom and pier. Birthday party’s and Christmas/Easter celebrations are excellent and enjoyed by all the residents with updates given on social media.
