My auntie recently came into Park House for respite care. We were hoping she would settle and feel really at home so she would want to stay. She had been struggling at home so much, even with our help and carers. The transition was wonderful, she felt at home very quickly with all the care she received.
When asked if she would be happy to stay she said yes. Park House is certainly a wonderful home. Everyone's so supportive. Home beautiful too.

My mother spent her last 18 months at Park House. It is a special, welcoming place with a wonderful team of dedicated staff. She found a new family there and felt 'at home', just as I did when I visited monthly from abroad. Nothing was ever too much trouble and my mother was extremely well looked after
and was always treated with respect. I was promptly informed of any developments. Various activities are organised, the art class is a recent success. I had great peace of mind knowing that my mother was being so well cared for.

My father was a resident at Park House for almost 6 years. My wife and I have considerable experience of care homes having had her mother in care for over 10 years.
We have visited Park House roughly once a month for the whole period and have always been overwhelmed by the friendly, clean and positive
atmosphere.
Unusually, in our experience, the staff are given freedom to give such attention as the residents need, whilst always being sufficiently staffed to carry out all of their duties.
Towards the end, as my father's nursing needs became greater, he was treated very frequently at an enhanced level with only a minor increase in fees.
The home's staff and management have consistently kept me abreast of developments in a sensitive and timely manner.

My mother has been in this home full-time for nearly two years. She is now 101. She began with respite periods and progressed to full time. The home is very well run by the owner who is very much hands on. If outside medical help is needed it is always encouraged without delay. The staff are well trained
and the residents are helped to feel that it really is their home. I have the highest regard for the owner and staff and would recommend it to anyone.

My mother entered Park House on 12/7/17. The warmth of welcome, support offered and assistance were greatly appreciated. The settling in period has been successful and mu mother now feels very very comfortable and at home.
Support services are tuned to the residents and are efficient and well run and
staff are kind and supportive to residents and visitors alike.

11th June 2016 The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration at Park House. A really happy and enjoyable afternoon for both residents and their families. The added bonus of the Jazz Men playing live, along with one of the residents (an ex-band member) who provided an excellent rendition on the drums which was
an absolute delight.
Special thanks to all the hard working staff who helped with the organisation of this event and for providing such a memorable occasion. Particular mention should be afforded to the Chef - what an achievement - superb buffet which was appreciated by all. Thank you to the manager and staff for the drinks!!
Everyone's dedication and commitment to the caring and well being of Park House residents is exemplary. Although my Mum has only been with you for a short while, I feel that the care she is receiving will hopefully ensure that her stay will be a long and happy one. Thank you all.

My mother moved in last month after we felt that she could no longer stay alone in her own home. We have been delighted with the positive improvement in her general health and well-being. The staff seem kind, friendly and thoughtful whenever we phone or visit and treat her as an individual - especially
with regards to eating and drinking.
Mum loves the frequent outings and the staff go to a lot of trouble to interest the residents in activities. Today they celebrated Chinese New Year! Tomorrow - pancake day!
There is a wonderful atmosphere of serene calm and contentment. The pets are great! It is a 'home' - not an institution and the staff and residents are like family. A very special place.

I visit a resident on a weekly basis and have been very impressed by the happy atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. They provide a lovely homely atmosphere with a variety of activities or outings on offer for the residents. Nothing ever seems too much trouble for the staff and everything is done with
a smile. The staff also seem to have a good rapport with the residents in their care.

The staff here have been very good. Friendly and supportive, from the manageress to all the other helpers, cooks etc. My mother isn't always impressed by the food although I suspect this is more due to her than to the standard of cooking. The lunches I have eaten here myself have been very good. Well
prepared, fresh ingredients.

My father who was living alone at home had a bad fall and broke his arm badly. He went in for a recuperation period. We looked at a number in the Weston area and this was certainly one of the best. The staff have been very good to my father, and in the three months he has been in the home, his health
has improved dramatically. Fantastic food, regular medicine and been well looked after and really transformed my father which is a delight for me to see. He likes the place so much he has now decided to stay! It is a great place, well organised, clean, good staff and fantastic food. Seeing my father so well is fantastic. Park House Thank you

Mum is sleeping badly which makes her very low and tired during the day. She feels helpless because she is totally dependant on others. I feel most people would feel the same. It is the best home I have experience of.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.294)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.294) out of 10 for Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Park House is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.419 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.294
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
