Tucked in the heart of Sidmouth, it is just a short walk from the Byes riverside walk, Blackmore Gardens, the seafront promenade and the town centre, giving residents easy access to the places they love.
The Britain in Bloom award winning garden and peaceful hillside views create a beautiful, calming space for residents and visitors. Inside, residents enjoy a spacious, high ceiling, dual aspect lounge filled with natural light, along with a welcoming dining room where home cooked meals made with local produce are served each day.
Radway Lodge can accommodate up to 15 residents in 14 bedrooms across the ground and first floors. All rooms are 10 square metres or larger, offering views of Salcombe Hill, the garden, or the main street. A passenger lift provides easy access to all floors ensuring Radway Lodge is designed to support independence. To enrich daily life, the Activities Co-ordinator offers creative workshops, recreational sessions, musical entertainment and one to one outings. Radway Lodge believe that creativity, companionship and meaningful engagement are essential to residents’ wellbeing. They also welcome well-behaved pets to visit, helping residents stay close to the companions that matter most.
Radway Lodge delivers 24 hour, person centred care, supporting individuals with a range of needs and levels of capacity. To support physical health, weekly physiotherapy with a local physio and monthly chiropody sessions are provided, helping residents maintain comfort, mobility and confidence.
Radway Lodge is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and is proud to hold a ‘Good’ rating (July 2023).

My dad has been with Radway Lodge for a couple of months as respite due to poor mobility, however it looks like he will be staying long term. Radway Lodge is very nice and light and the rooms are good. The staff are always friendly and smiling. Also very helpful when in need of a wheelchair to take my dad for a spin down in the town. Activities are held and if you want to join in you can, if not then you don't have to. It would be great to have china cups/mugs, rather than the bulky plastic cups for those residents that can manage.mmOverall, the home meets the needs of my dad. Of course, dad would rather be in his own home, however his mobility issues just don't allow it, so I am pleased to have found Radway Lodge, as it is the next best thing to look after my dad and care for his needs.

Excellent Care home right in the centre of town, it has a lovely homely feel as you walk in. Staff are great with the residents they intetact well, the food is home from home cooking just right for everyone and adjustments made if necessary. Mum has been with Radway Lodge for several years due to a nasty fall affecting her mobility. She took awhile to settle but seems very happy with things. The food is reasonable and they do cut it up for her as she has trouble doing this. The dishes and cutlery could be better for people with limited movement there are special plates etc. for disabled people to help them feed themselves and although I have mentioned this I see no evidence of a change in plates or cutlery. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and it is nice to be able to see the same faces. I have noticed that items of bedding and towels I have provide do not seem to be used even though I have marked them. However they have provided a very nice adjustable chair for her. Overall Mum seems happy and well cared for and she seems content.

We appreciate you raising the points about dining equipment. Thank you for highlighting this, we would be more than happy to discuss it with you in person the next time you are visiting Radway. Regarding the bedding and towels you have provided, we understand your concern. We do wash residents' bedding frequently to maintain comfort, hygiene, and dignity, which means personal items are not always in use at the exact moment of a visit. However, your mum's belongings should still be clearly identified and used as part of her regular rotation, so we will check our laundry and room-stocking processes to make sure this is happening consistently.

She also loves the food, which always looks and smells amazing, which she tells me it is ! I am always offered refreshments while I am there, which is also reflective of the kindness and caring of the staff there. Previously I have seen the staff taking their guests around the gardens in Sidmouth...so not in home environment all the time. I did not get my tea or coffee as the lady had to deal with a service user, who rightly came first.
