As I approached the front door, for the appointment to inspect the suitability of Montrose Care Home as my father’s new residence, staff about to leave welcomed me inside. Entering the hall, more staff in various employments, greeted me with banter similar to that shared when visiting the homes of my
family. The convivial atmosphere embraces the whole establishment, with both staff and residents conveying heartwarming greetings.
This is not an old people's home. It is a haven of characters, personalities and friends who convey an ambience as comfortable as sinking into one’s favourite armchair. It has been a relief to witness my father regaining a semblance of the happy person he was before suffering two-and-a-half months of hospital admission.
I have no hesitation in recommending Montrose as a provider of all needs a person requires when seeking help to overcome disabilities affecting their health and well-being.

My father has been a resident, since early this year after a long stay in hospital. He has settled well, the home is very well presented, food is very good. The staff are amazing, it is just like a big family, very welcoming.

MONTROSE - A BIG BIG thank you to the manager and all the staff - your love and care is exceptional.

What a wonderful place. We placed my elderly (97) mother there for respite while we took a break. She said the love and care she received was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble.

She

said the food was excellent with a good choice and more than enough. She loved her room and it was very clean and comfortable. The other residents were friendly and there were activities to join in if you wished but there was no pressure.
We can not fault the staff they all treated her and us alike with great love kindness and respect. Other family members and friends that visited mum all commented on the lovely friendly atmosphere.
We were so happy and pleased with everything (Mum as well) that we are now considering Montrose as a permanent home for her. Thank you again, Montrose.

My Mother moved to Montrose almost six months ago. We chose Montrose partly because it is close to our home and partly the positive feedback we had been given. The staff are exceptional and there is a real 'family feel' to Montrose. Everyone is caring and kind and professional. The Management has an
'open door' policy and are extremely approachable. They are reactive to comments and strive to achieve the highest standards of care. There is an activity programme in the week, with trips out to the market when weather permits. Food is all home cooked and looks delicious.

Having reached the stage where my Grand Mother could no longer cope with living in her own home, as a family we decided to try a respite period in a local care home. Having looked at several other care homes in Dorchester, Montrose was clearly my Grand Mother's and all of our clear leader. After just
over one week she felt so safe and cared for that she made the decisions herself to make this her new home. A great relief for us as a family and so good to see her happy. The Manager and all of the staff are exceptional in the service they provide, nothing is ever too much trouble. We couldn't be any happier with Montrose.
