Her warm and approachable nature helps residents, relatives, and staff feel at ease, and her open-door approach means she is always available to listen, support, and guide.
Since becoming Registered Manager, Gemma has helped move The Priory into a new era, bringing a refreshing and holistic approach that feels homely, welcoming, and person-centred, while continuing to maintain the highest standards of care. Emily, along with all of our dedicated carers, is committed to ensuring that every resident feels happy, comfortable, and as independent as possible. As a care assistant, Emily’s primary role is to provide the care you need while always respecting your personal wishes and encouraging your independence. Whether it’s helping with your morning routine—such as showering, brushing your teeth, or even painting your nails—Emily is here to support you every step of the way. She also takes care of light housekeeping tasks, such as sending laundry to be washed, making or changing your bed, and ensuring your space is neat and tidy.
Throughout the morning, Emily will offer you meals and drinks, and if you’re joining in with daily activities, she’ll be right there with you, providing assistance and making sure you’re engaged and comfortable. Your physical and mental well-being are just as important to Emily as they are to you, which is why she takes the time to connect with you personally. She works closely with the senior staff on duty to ensure that your care is tailored to your individual needs, providing the best possible support.
As the day progresses, Emily will continue to assist with refreshments, mobility, and toileting if necessary, and will help you get ready for bed in the evening. With Emily’s compassionate care and attention, you can feel assured that you are in safe, capable hands.
Nicky is one of our talented cooks here at The Priory, and her passion for food truly shines through in every meal she prepares. Not only is she an expert in creating delicious, home-cooked meals, but she also takes great care to ensure that every dish is fresh, nutritious, and tailored to the individual needs of our residents. Whether it’s accommodating special dietary requirements like allergies, diabetes, or soft diets, or offering tasty vegetarian and pescatarian options, Nicky goes above and beyond to ensure everyone’s preferences are met.
In addition to her culinary skills, Nicky maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. She also loves to get involved in special events, preparing mouth-watering finger foods for our residents' barbecues, parties, and celebrations throughout the year. At The Priory, we’re lucky to have someone as dedicated as Nicky, whose care and attention make every meal a true highlight of the day.
