Thank you for your lovely review, I will makes sure that the staff get to read it, because it is lovely that you talked about how they cared for her particularly towards the end of her life. Mum was a central figure amongst the residents, and one who would always take part in all the activities. It was a true honour to have her here and (as you know) she is missed by everyone, staff and residents alike!
Many thanks for you great review - it was a pleasure and a privilege to care for Mum and she certainly embraced what we had and enjoyed her time here! Sadly missed.
Many thanks for your great review, it is always sad when people pass away, but I shall remember your Dad with great fondness and I am so glad we did the exhibition at Easter where we learnt about his passion for gardening - seeing him with a watering can at one of the waist-high troughs we bought him is one of my favorite photos! Please keep in touch!
Many thanks for you wonderful review - high praise indeed! It is lovely to see Mum (who is always smiling) enjoying her time here (am I allowed to say at 100 years young!)Homely or 'home from home' I always feel is one of the best things people can say about Sambrook House as it is what we strive for. We never forget we all go home at night but this IS their home and we want it to be, and feel as such for every resident. So thank you!!!
Many thanks for your lovely review - it is great to see how well he has settled back in to Sambrook House living, and just like last time he LOVES the food (he is always the last to leave the table at lunchtime). It is great to have him back!
Thank you for your great review. Dad has truly settled and is enjoying living at Sambrook House. He meets up with many of the other residents every day, and always has a yarn to spin.It is an absolute pleasure looking after him!
Many thanks for your lovely review. I am always delighted when people imply that we provide a homely environment rather than an institution. It is such a pleasure to have Mum join us (am I allowed to say at 106 years young!!!). She is great company and always say that she enjoying her stay with us.
Many thanks for your lovely review. It is lovely that you specifically mentioned the food as we are very proud of the meals that our two chefs produce, and you are right, we do allow families to book to eat with their loved one (Mum/Dad hosting dinner once again!), all we ask is a small donation to the Resident's Comforts Fund that is then spent on activities, crafts and entertainers.
When I visited with my sister and son, we were all really impressed by the cosy feel of the place, and also by the professionalism
Many thanks for your lovely review - we strive to provide a safe, friendly, caring etc environment, but to be told you were impressed by it being 'cosy' is a lovely tribute. Being told we are 'homely' (as this implies) means to me that we have got it right - it is that overall feeling within the place. Thank you.
That is a fantastic review - thank you!Mum always has a smile on her face and thoroughly enjoys all the activities we put on. It is also lovely the amount of time you and your sisters spend with Mum and attend our events - thank you for your continued support in everything we do here :)
Many thanks for your very positive review. Mum certainly enjoys taking part in the activities and meeting up with everyone else in the care home. She is a great quizzer!
Many thanks for taking the time to submit a review - Mum is doing well and still reading the newspaper cover to cover every day!
Many thanks for taking the time to submit a review.
Many thanks for your glowing review. I think it is fair to say that Mum is so happy here and a great part of the community! She is great company and a pleasure to look after! Thank you.
Thank you, for your kind words, and thank you for being so involved in the care home and everything we do! Your mum truly is a success story, and we feel privileged to be part of her journey. It's been wonderful to see her appetite and confidence return, and the joy she brings to group activities and the friendships she has made are inspiring. Her incredible knitting skills continue to amaze us all (not patterns!). She really does light up the home with her smile and constant gratitude and humour, and is a pleasure to care for.It has been wonderful to see her regain her her zest for life.
Many thanks for taking the time to provide a review for us ... If I could just pick up on your rating for 'activities' as it may be something that you are not aware of, but our Activities Coordinator (who is in 3 days a week) always spends time with Mum-in-law, privately in her room, doing things like feeding her, reading poetry, talking about things like the news, old songs, people, and counting, spelling and singing together etc. Sadly the main group activities are beyond her now (as we all recognise) but that said, we are more than happy to talk about any other ideas you may have at maintaining her interest. Look forward to seeing you when you are next in :)

My 'hobbies' are many and varied, but have always included 'DIY'. Having 'rebuilt' and redecorated several houses, I see Sambrook House as my biggest 'project' yet.
I love being around people (particularly the older generation who have fascinating life stories to Other than First Aid and Defibrillator, I have no specific 'care' qualifications (I leave that to the Gill and her team of professionals), I am very 'caring' and derive great pleasure from seeing the joy and contentment on the faces of our residents.
