St Mary’s Mount is set in one and a half acres of land with a large lawn area and an enclosed rose garden, which provides a secure area for all residents to enjoy. Although the home is located in a semi-rural area it is easily accessible from all surrounding areas, and has the added advantage of the A50 route being close by. There is also a public house within easy reach, Library, newsagents, and various other facilities, which are near by. There is a good local bus service just outside the Home, which provides transport to the town and surrounding areas.
The home is fully central heated and offers a comfortable atmosphere for their residents. A choice of single or shared accommodation is available. There are in total 30 rooms of which 20 single rooms on the ground floor and 6 singles and 2 doubles on the first floor to which there is a passenger lift. All rooms have doors wide enough to be accessible by wheelchairs and provide wash hand basins with lighting above the basins. They also have a selection of larger rooms above the Commission of Social Care Inspection recommendation. The rooms have views overlooking the large lawn area or the Rose garden, which aids relaxation.
There is a large dining room and two spacious lounges, which provide televisions, music equipment and pleasant views of the gardens to aid relaxing. There is also a sitting area outside the lounges and dining room, which proves to be poplar with residents because from here they are able to have a wider view of all activity within the Home. There is also a separate smoke room for residents to use as required, which provides comfortable seating and a television.
