The Old Rectory is a great, homely, family run care home with superb staff. It feels like you're part of the family when you go to visit your relative, everybody welcomes you warmly & because there is a very low turnover of staff you always see familiar faces. The care they take of my Dad is excellent, they are warm & friendly towards him & I feel that I can talk to them at any time. In turn, they are quick to communicate with me if they need to.

The gardens are stunning, beautifully maintained & made great use of in the summer with garden parties/family events.

I would very happily recommend & I'm very happy for my Dad to be there.

The Old Rectory is homely and welcoming. My husband is loved and respected. He is cared for very well. The outside of the building is beautiful and the garden is too. Staff always know how my husband is when asked. They adapt their approach and plan to cater for his deteriorating health. They understand his needs and preferences.

My mum and I are very pleased with our choice of The Old Rectory to care for my dad. The staff are kind and have taken the time + effort to get to know my dad, his preferences, likes and dislikes. They have adapted to his changing needs and make effort to include him in activities he would enjoy. They moved him to a different room which made it easier to accommodate his needs as his condition progressed. There is a lovely family atmosphere with stable staffing. Staff are kind and friendly.

A lovely atmosphere. Resident appear happy and settled. A caring set of staff who genuinely seem fond of the residents. As a family member or a resident I can always talk to a member of staff about any concerns and I feel supported and listened to. Mum lucky to be here.

Settling in well. Staff are nice. I like a laugh and joke (banter) with the staff. Everything is alway clean and tidy in all areas. Would like a sensor activated light in my en-suite. Would like more activities that I can be included in (i.e quizzes)

I find The Old Rectory very comfortable. My needs are met. The food is excellent. The staff treat me with respect and dignity. The home is set in a large and very well kept garden and I enjoy sitting in it when the weather allows. I also enjoy outings to the nearby Village Hall.

Overall Experience

My husband has now lived at the Old Rectory Care Home for nearly a year. During that time he has consistently received the kindest and most respectful care and understanding - he is content in the home. He has very much enjoyed the food and the excellent communication of the staff. Indeed, good communication is a great strength of the home with any queries being dealt with quickly and sensibly. My family and I are most grateful for the warm welcome we always receive from members of staff which is so encouraging and comforting. We are deeply grateful for the pleasant and professional attitude of all the staff. The Old Rectory is a place of goodness, kindness and genuine concern for everyone - it is indeed a 'home from home'.

Can boldly say my mum has settled much better than I had expected, this is due to the care, energy, fun that is given to my mum - personalised care. Owner-managed makes a difference to quality of overall service and experience. Bedroom has stunning views of fields and valleys from one window and the other over immaculately maintained gardens which my mum's utilised for a bowling green. Regular trips out are enjoyed by Mum and her new friends. Residents are very much part of the local community. Family are made to feel very welcome and there very much is a family atmosphere feel in the home. Varied food options, encouraging a varied diet, some foods I never imagined my mum would try, and I know she loves them! Summer evenings in the garden listening to the tractors in the field, with the sun shining, are a wonderful memory to treasure. Mum has been at the rectory for nearly 2 years. I looked at 11 homes before this home was selected for the care of my loved one
