The Old Rectory is a beautiful family run care home, set in the beautiful rural village of Fradswell, a tranquil setting with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The beautiful gardens are well maintained and secure so that service users can make full use of the grounds and maintain their independence. Residents are encouraged to take a stroll and assist with gardening should they desire.

Whilst the building is not purpose-built, all bedrooms are beautiful and homely. Each person’s room is individualised to help residents feel comfortable and at home, with family photos, decorations, and memorabilia. There are also open, bright communal spaces, alongside a smaller, cosier lounge.

With being family run this has been our passion for over 40 years. The experienced and skilled care team is committed to creating a helpful and warm environment within the home. The General Manager works with the team to ensure independence and dignity are maintained for service users, and that all members feel supported. The team at The Old Rectory care home is empathetic and kind, offering around-the-clock care.

The care offered
- Carers are trained and specialise in dementia care, ensuring the needs of residents are met.
- Complex needs such as Parkinson’s and physical disabilities can be supported.
- Rehabilitation care is available for those who have lost confidence and are aiming to regain independence and return home.
- Respite care and/or day care are offered, helping residents to settle into the environment and decide if this is the right place to call home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Can boldly say my mum has settled much better than I had expected, this is due to the care, energy, fun that is given to my mum - personalised care. Owner-managed makes a difference to quality of overall service and experience. Bedroom has stunning views of fields and valleys from one window and the
other over immaculately maintained gardens which my mum's utilised for a bowling green. Regular trips out are enjoyed by Mum and her new friends. Residents are very much part of the local community. Family are made to feel very welcome and there very much is a family atmosphere feel in the home. Varied food options, encouraging a varied diet, some foods I never imagined my mum would try, and I know she loves them! Summer evenings in the garden listening to the tractors in the field, with the sun shining, are a wonderful memory to treasure. Mum has been at the rectory for nearly 2 years. I looked at 11 homes before this home was selected for the care of my loved one

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.185) out of 10 for The Old Rectory Fradswell Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Old Rectory Fradswell Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.185 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Old Rectory Fradswell Ltd is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.4 = 0.185
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
