The Firs Residential Home

My mum has been a resident for nearly 8 months. In this time we've found the care and communication to be excellent. Staff really care about the residents and go out of their way to provide activities to keep them entertained. The home is well managed and always clean. As visitors we are always made welcome.

My mum has been at the Firs Residential Home for a month now. It took her a little while to settle in but now she is really happy and is looking really well. The staff are all very friendly and very caring and are happy for us to visit whenever we want. There is a lovely homely atmosphere here and nothing is too much trouble. Everything is sorted out for my mum's needs so we don't have to worry. I would highly recommend it.

The team goes above and beyond to ensure she feels comfortable, valued and supported. Communication with the staff has been excellent, they keep us updated and are always willing to listen. The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, family-like environment. My aunt is doing so well and is always speaking positively about the staff. Struck with very homely atmosphere supported by the wonderful staff. A* in every way and our grandfather loves it there. We were concerned at first about putting him in to care, but the staff have alleviated all our concerns. Thanks to you all for doing a fabulous job and going the extra mile.

The care home is professional, well equipped and is excellent for those who are in need. From the management to the supporting staff, everyone can be communicated to. The facilities and safety of the building are up to standard and I appreciate those for making it safe.

In recent months there has been a steady decline in my mother's care due to new management. The staff levels have decreased putting everyday care under pressure. The ratio of carers to residents is unacceptable to the point where I have had to remove my mother from this care home which has caused distress and more confusion. The management are non-existent and there's nobody to talk to. Complaints have been ignored.

I highly recommend this care home for anyone looking for quality care for their loved ones!

The home is warm and welcoming with excellent facilities. All the staff are caring and supportive and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention to the home manager who helped us through a difficult time. Dad is settled and our family are reassured he is being taken care of well.
