My mum has been at the Firs Residential Home for a month now. It took her a little while to settle in but now she is really happy and is looking really well. The staff are all very friendly and very caring and are happy for us to visit whenever we want. There is a lovely homely atmosphere here and nothing
is too much trouble. Everything is sorted out for my mum's needs so we don't have to worry. I would highly recommend it.

The Firs Care Home has been exceptional in every way. The staff are warm, attentive, and truly go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and valued. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a real sense of community and care. We are particularly grateful for
the weekly ward round as my grandad has a few medical issues.
The activities they offer keep everyone engaged and happy. My loved ones has thrived here, and knowing they're in such good hands gives our family peace of mind.

The Firs Residential Home has been exceptional in providing care for my aunt. The manager is incredibly dedicated, ensuring every aspect of the home runs smoothly and residents' needs are always prioritised. The owner is very hands-on, regularly engaging with our family, which creates a personal and
welcoming atmosphere. The care staff deserve the highest praise, they work tirelessly and can't be faulted. Their kindness and compassion towards my aunt are evident every day, and it's clear they genuinely care about her well-being. The team goes above and beyond to ensure she feels comfortable, valued and supported. Communication with the staff has been excellent, they keep us updated and are always willing to listen. The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, family-like environment. My aunt is doing so well and is always speaking positively about the staff. From the moment I walked into The Firs Care Home, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff exude a genuine sense of compassion that is hard to find in any care setting. It's not just a care home; it feels like a second family. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness and organisation
of the facility. The Firs is meticulously maintained, providing a safe and pleasant environment for its residents. The common areas are bright and cheerful, filled with laughter and the sounds of engaging activities. I noticed that every corner of the home is designed with the residents' comfort in mind, from the cosy lounge areas to the beautifully landscaped gardens where residents can enjoy the fresh air.

Outstanding Care and Compassion! We couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care my grandmother received at The Firs Residential Home. From the moment she arrived, the staff welcomed her with warmth and professionalism that made her feel right at home. The caregivers went above and beyond to ensure
her comfort and well-being. They took the time to get to know her personally, understanding her needs and preferences. The level of attention and kindness she received was truly heartwarming.
The medical care provided was top-notch. The nursing staff were always attentive, making sure her medications were administered on time, and they were quick to respond to any health concerns. Knowing that she was in such capable hands gave our family immense peace.

In recent months there has been a steady decline in my mother's care due to new management. The staff levels have decreased putting everyday care under pressure. The ratio of carers to residents is unacceptable to the point where I have had to remove my mother from this care home which has caused distress
and more confusion. The management are non-existent and there's nobody to talk to. Complaints have been ignored.

While we welcome feedback, it is only necessary I respond to your claims that led to your mother's departure. Since the home came under new ownership & management, we have faced challenges in establishing communication & cooperation with you regarding your mother's wellbeing. When asked to provide next of kin contact details and proof of LPA, you declined, you have declined to attend any of the residents and relatives' meetings, nor have you reached out to management to discuss any concerns. I was also concerned when you removed your mother from the home without informing management. A discharge must be conducted safely particularly concerning medication, which was still at the home. When I raised this with you, you responded that it was none of my concern. I do appreciate the 5-star rating you gave for care. We work extremely hard to ensure the wellbeing of all residents, your recognition of this is a true and accurate reflection of the home overall.

I recently visited The Firs residential home, and I must say I am absolutely impressed with how amazing it is. First of all the staff do an amazing job with caring for the residents and are always so attentive to their needs. I am very impressed with how the facilities are spotless and well-maintained,
and the residents seem joyful and well-cared for. Another reason I am impressed with The Firs Residential Home is that they provide amazing activities for the residents and encourage them to take part. They use the facilities to their full advantage.

My mother has been very fortunate to be a resident in this care home for the last couple of years. I have nothing but praise, admiration and gratitude to all the staff who work at The Firs.
The care home is relatively small compared to other homes I have visited which I believe makes it feel much
more homely. The staff work hard to provide activities for the residents encouraging as many as possible to participate and keep them stimulated and active. They make use of the garden during the finer weather and have held excellent music performances both inside and outside.
The standard of food and the way it is served to residents is excellent and those that can are encouraged to eat at the dining table affording them the dignity they deserve.
The Firs is in the centre of the village and residents that are able will often be taken to village locations close by.
I couldn't have found a better home for my mother and am truly grateful that we chose The Firs.
