Mum was admitted to Brun Lea after a dementia diagnosis in 2025. Whilst mum has been a resident we have seen the care deteriorate , so much we had to move her. The CQC are currently investigating the home due to so many reports of poor care and medication incidents from relatives and whistle...
The new home equals a new mum. Still with dementia but a smiling,clean mum who interacts in calm surroundings and is genuinely cared for now. We certainly don't recommend Brun Lea.

The staff of Brun Lea came to my rescue when I was in need of help. My husband went there firstly for respite care but has stayed. It is a small home which means that we have got to know the staff and other residents quickly. It has a strong family atmosphere. The staff interact fully with both residents and families. Any issues are dealt with quickly. The food is cooked on the premises which is important so it can be easily adapted to meet everyone's needs. My husband has a complex medical history and the staff have taken this on board. Activities are challenging in a community with diverse needs, however, there are daily activities, everyone is encouraged take part, and there is always joy and laughter. There are visits from outside organisations. There is always room for improvement in Care home facilities, but Brun Lea has a young and energetic management team and I can honestly say I am happy for my husband to stay. I never thought I would be able to say that, but happily I can.

Brun Lea is a very friendly care home, with a family like atmosphere. My husband was a resident of Brun Lea for only three months, but during that time his confidence and strength when walking greatly improved. Unlike his previous care home, he was not constantly told to 'sit down', but encouraged to be self-reliant. The rooms all have a washbasin, and some have an en suite toilet. He started washing and dressing himself. His condition improved so much that, after more than 3 years in care, he has now come home. I cannot thank the staff enough.
