Activities is always fun, residents smiling and willing to participate, along with a high standard of care. The manager Laura is very fond of all residents and it shows, throwing her hand to any aspects that are required within the home, I have huge respect for this and it needs to be recognised.
We looked at other care homes in the area nothing compared to Fotherby House. Mum soon settled into routine. She is more mobile than when she arrived thanks to encouragement of staff. She is happy and feels safe at Fotherby House, an excellent care home.

My neighbour went to join the Fotherby Family a couple of years ago. Followed by her husband. They were wonderful neighbours for many years. She is not able to keep in touch anymore because of issues. Her husband kept in touch weekly and showered me with pictures of his wife and of him on trips out. Sadly he passed a few weeks ago and I miss his humour and updates. I now live the other side of the world so can not visit them both like I promised I would in 2025. He was really looking forward to it and said we can remember together life back when we were neighbours. I'm amazed that a care home have such wonderful trips and items for the residents to take part in. He loved being there before he passed and knowing his sweet wife and how she was before proved how happy they both were. He did ask me if I would mind if he told the owner of the home my feelings. Not at all I said. Fotherby House you are a wonderful home!

She is now far more mobile and able to join in the activities of the residents with a degree of enthusiasm which is unexpected. This is due to the care of the team at Fotherby House, it's atmosphere and inclusive. Thank you all.

Always a friendly, warm atmosphere when visiting. Very much a home-from-home. All staff are very approachable. Fantastic activities and food. Mum always has a smile on her face. Lots of activities available or places to relax. Lovely outside area.

My mum had visited numerous people in Fotherby House over the years and had concluded that it was the best care home in Louth. Fortunately, there was a space at her time of need!
The care for my Mum was first class. The room was perfect for her needs, it was private and had a small garden.
The food is excellent, but the most important part is the staff. They are wonderful and provide great care and loads of love and support. My mum particularly enjoyed the daily activities, which got everyone involved and had lots of fun and laughter.
Mum made new friends at Fotherby House and would play whist or dominoes in the afternoon or have a good chat about the good old days.
So, for Mum, and indeed the whole family, Fotherby House was perfect.

My mum first visited Fotherby House on a weekly basis to use the assisted bathing facilities and enjoy lunch there, and later joined as a resident. She stayed there for over a year until her death in October. My sister and I can honestly say that throughout the different stages of her declining health, she was given a consistently high standard of care. The carers at all levels, the cook, and the management worked hard to give her attention, affection and expert care: she was treated as an individual, and when we visited, every effort was made to give us time with her, but always strictly observing Covid regulations. We were impressed by the attention to detail, for example, a special cake on her birthday, and the fact that four members of staff attended Mum’s funeral. From our experience, Fotherby House gets the important things right.
