Both my parents recently became residents at The Chimneys. It provides a warm and welcoming homely environment which is what we as a family wanted for them. All the staff are truly wonderful and go above and beyond in their care. I visit my parents daily and I'm made to feel so welcome and when I leave
I have no hesitation that they are being extremely well looked after.
Thank you to everyone at The Chimneys - you do an amazing job!

The chimneys is a truly wonderful care home and their main aim is to ensure that residents are cared and looked after like they were in their own home. Both my parents are residents and after my daily visits I know I am leaving them in a safe, happy and homely environment.
The staff genuinely care
and I've formed some great friendships with them.
A very special place in my opinion

Mum came to the Chimneys Care Home following a stroke. The staff are amazing they go over and above in everything they do. Mum speaks so highly of them all. She feels it's like home from home. The home is well organised and efficiently run with the needs of the residents at the centre of this. The rooms
are warm and clean.
The food is exceptional and drinks are plentiful for residents and visitors. Mums safety and wellbeing being is always at the centre of the care she receives. I can't praise the staff enough . Thank you for making mum feel so welcome.

The Chimneys is a lovely warm and welcoming care home. My nan is really well looked after, I visit weekly and visiting hours are generous. My nan has had her first proper hair cut in years being unable to leave the house as they have a hair dresser who comes to the home. It's a lovely little home in
the area.

My mother lived at The Chimneys for almost 2 years. She passed away one week short of her 101 birthday. Mum was so well cared for during her stay there. I had peace of mind knowing all her needs were met. The home truly feels like a home from home, family members are treated as if they are visiting
their loved ones at their own home. Food is prepared fresh daily with a good choice of meals. I have spent many hours visiting my mum and have spoken at length to the other residents, who are all content with the way they are treated and helped with their daily routine. I cannot praise the care staff enough for the support they gave me in the last few days of my mother's life. Nor of the constant care my mother received when she needed it most. I recommend The Chimneys Care Home most highly.

My grandpa has been living at Chimneys Care home for over 10 years. He enjoys living at the Chimneys, and as a family, we value their work here. To say my grandpa is not one of the world's natural chatters is an understatement; however, the staff are consistently kind and try to engage him in activities
and conversations. They help to facilitate his relationships with other residents, run games and activities, and the facilities are excellent. Choosing a care home for a loved one can be scary, but The Chimneys is a really good care home with a pleasant environment.

My father-in-law has been in The Chimneys since September 2011, this is now over 13 years! Before this, he had used it for several years when they had a vacancy to give his wife a rest! He chose it after trying two other homes in the area for respite care.
We have always liked the way that the staff
and managers treat the residents and the fact that The Chimneys is a small care home so that strong relationships are built and maintained. My father-in-law's health has slowly deteriorated but he has been cared for beautifully and with respect.
We all feel part of the Chimneys 'family' and grieve when residents pass away as they have become our friends. We remember the stories they used to tell and they live on in our memories.
I would heartily recommend The Chimneys.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.498)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.498) out of 10 for Chimneys Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.798 for Chimneys Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.798
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chimneys Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
