My dad has been cared and looked after by the staff with dedication and thoughtfulness. When I first went to view the home, I was struck by the friendly atmosphere, and perhaps for me the words that stand out for me when I asked the question "what would you ask if you were me". And the reply was
"Will he be loved". And yes he has been cared for and loved as part of a big family! Thank you Grangefield

We are still very happy with the care mum receives at Grangefield. Staff are always welcoming and polite, and we are kept well informed of any issues regarding mum's welfare. A good atmosphere in the home.

The main comment I would like to make is that my mother is very happy at Grangefield.
The staff are kind and considerate and treat her with dignity.
I'm always made to feel welcome too. It is her home now and the staff are aware of this.
Thank you.

I live in Shropshire and visit my mother in the home once a month and take her out. I am also in regular contact by phone. My mother seems quite happy in the home and as she has no signs of dementia I'm sure that she would tell me if there were any major problems. I often look at the social media group
and there seems to be a variety of activities put on by the staff to keep the residents entertained.

Grangefield is Dad's house. Being a smaller home, all the staff know Dad, and his likes and dislikes, he is a valued member of the community at Grangefield. There is a genuine 'warmth' around they place, a true embodiment of the word 'care', which extends to the family when we visit, we are known by
name.

The home has a lovely friednly and caring atmosphere. The staff are attentive and another is too much trouble. There are always activities planned to encourage the residents to socialise and remain active. Visiting is encouraged without appointment and family members are always welcome. A real home
from home.

My mum was receiving home care from Grangefield but sadly her condition became worse and we were very lucky that Grangefield were able to offer her a space at very short notice. We have found all the staff at Grangefield to be absolutely brilliant. Everyone is always very helpful and caring and cannot
do enough for Mum. Communication is excellent with information provided readily. Staff are always happy to get Mum on the phone so that we can talk to her. We have not been able to go into the home due to Covid but all the staff are very happy to arrange window visits. It was recently Mum's birthday and on that day we had 45 minutes with her through the window with the manager sitting with her and opening her presents and cards. The chef made a lovely cake for Mum and she was given a beautiful posy of flowers as well. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Grangefield is a wonderful care home and it is comforting to know that Mum is being cared for so well every day.

Dad loves living at Grangefield. The staff are very caring and Dad likes the 24/7 support and the social interaction and activities. He likes being given some input into his daily breakfast choice and enjoys his meals. The family have taken a lot of comfort over the past 12 difficult months knowing
Dad is happy and well looked after. Thank you to everybody at Grangefield.

I have been very impressed with the way in which the home has cared for all the residents during the covid pandemic. Their safety has been the prime concern of the staff and management and I have been kept fully informed of steps taken to contain and control the one outbreak at the home.

My mother has been with Grangefield since Jan 2014. The size of the care home and the lovely dining area made it feel like home. The level of activities and socialising while a gentleman was manger was exceptional. The last two managers do just enough. It is still my mums home, but it has become ordinary.
Her room does need a new carpet and cleaning more often. Care during coronavirus is exceptional, and the staff go the extra mile at all times.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to do a review. I am sorry that you feel some that some areas are not to your standard.
However, we work extremely hard throughout the home to constantly improve our offering. In the past 12-months alone we have changed the front windows to a modern grey colour, added a stunning new entrance porch, added new flooring in corridors and bedrooms and added brand new artwork throughout the ground floor. We have also invested in state-of-the-art care management technology as well as a digital medication management system. In 2017, we received a social care award for being the best care home in Northamptonshire. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have bucked the trend and have been one of only a small hand full of care homes in Northamptonshire that have remained coronavirus free. That has been possible through meticulous planning and implementation of infection control measures. We do, however, value your comments and will investigate these further.

Mum has been in Grangefield since 2013. During the last couple of years, she has developed dementia. She feels safe in the home and very comfortable with her carers. Because of this, I have peace of mind.

Mum has lived at Grangefield for the last 7 years and has been happy and well cared for.
The staff are kind, professional and friendly. They always endeavour to do their best for each of the residents.
The food is home cooked and well presented.
It is always clean and tidy with the garden looking
particularly good at the moment.
The management have gone out of their way to accommodate mum as her needs have changed over the years for which I am truly grateful.
I cannot recommend this home enough.

The care that has been extended to my father in law and family has been second to none. Without exception, the staff and management ensure that all residents are well cared for and all their needs are met on an individual basis. I cannot recommend Grangefield highly enough.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.378)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.378) out of 10 for Grangefield Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.778 for Grangefield Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (56 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.778
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grangefield Residential Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 23 registered maximum number of service users is 4.6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
