I can't recommend Haywood Oaks highly enough. My Dad is a resident. For many years he would tell us just how much he didn't want to be in a care home. Since arriving he has been made so welcome, with a lot of care and attention to individual personality and needs which is incredible. My Dad settled very quickly. There's a shared feeling of family between the residents and carers, I have witnessed many times in the last few months managers and staff going completely out of their way to make a difference, big or small. I feel extremely lucky to have found Haywood Oaks for my Dad and the rest of our family, we haven't had to worry about his care and instead feel looked after ourselves when we're there.

Following several visits for respite care, my mother has felt comfortable and safe here. We have found staff from all departments to be kind and friendly. New ownership and improvements will help with first impressions, however it is a lovely care team who shine at Haywood Oaks Care Home.

My grandma was happy when staying here on respite. Staff all really good, care and are kind. It is the only place she wants to return to, other places lacked a homely vibe. Thank you, hopeful to return soon.

All staff and manager of Haywood Oaks Care Home are totally professional, polite, caring and a credit to the care home. I am more than satisfied with the care they exercise on my wife who has dementia and all the needs required to assist her. I would recommend this care facility to anyone experiencing the same unfortunate circumstances.

My mother received wonderful support at Haywood Oaks. The emphasis on getting everyone into the communal downstairs space was very well adapted to her needs and gave her the best experience possible. When she became ill, the staff provided excellent care and communicated effectively with relatives. I am very grateful for all they did for her.

It's hard to pick a date for a review given that since my stepmum arrived at Haywood Oaks she has been looked after well, put much-needed weight back on, cared for and included in everyday activities and is part of their family.

My mother resides at Haywood Oaks and has done for some time now. Following recent changes at the home, including ownership and management changes, the standards have been raised considerably. There is much more interaction with the residents, most of whom, including my mother see this as home, the biggest compliment any care home can be given. Some of the staff members are exceptional in their duties, the cleaner is particularly good in maintaining the standard of the home. It is an older building than some and as such does not have the facilities that some newer care homes have, but it is more than made up for in other ways. I would recommend Haywood Oaks Care Home for the high standard of care given.

Haywood Oaks is a 'home from home' for our Mum. A small, calm setting with a maximum 18/20 residents it is a friendly and caring environment. Because of the size, the staff treat us all as one big family and that atmosphere feeds into the wellbeing of the residents and their family members. The team of staff are brilliant and really cares about the residents. Yes, it looks a little tired in places and could do with new carpets, curtains etc but that doesn't take away from the care it delivers.

My review involves the care given to my Mother at the Haywood Oaks Care Home between April 2016 and November 2017.

I chose Haywood Oaks after visiting 8 other local care homes, speaking to staff at each and reviewing their general suitability, cleanliness, rooms and layout. I can now honestly say that I could not have made a better decision for the following reasons:

1. Nearest experience to living at home, with a lovely atmosphere and pleasing layout.
2. Totally professional staff who despite working long shifts never fell short of exceptional standards. I will always be grateful for the genuine attention and love shown to my Mother by all the staff.
3. Excellent meals served to the very highest standards.
4. The cleanest care home I saw (and smelt). The standard never slipped below excellent and the cleaner took personal responsibility for it.

5. A care home manager who was constantly striving to improve on the high standards achieved.

In conclusion, I recommend Haywood Oaks!

The care provided for my Grandmother at Haywood Oaks Care Home is second to none. Every time I visit my relative I am extremely impressed by the quality of personal care provided by the staff, they really do go the extra mile and take great pride in their job. The food is excellent, as are the facilities and cleanliness - it always feels and smells very clean. I always come away from having visited my grandmother with a feeling that we did the right thing moving her to Haywood Oaks. Beforehand she became very unhappy, lonely and was unable to look after herself without multiple daily care visits. Now she really has settled in well to Haywood Oaks and is often taking part in art & crafts and gentle sports - things we have never seen her be interested in before. Sadly the dementia she suffers with is getting gradually worse, but I am in no doubt that Haywood Oaks will continue to offer her a happy, safe, clean and relaxing place to spend the remainder of her years.
