We have always been happy with the care and treatment Dad has received in the several years he has been a resident at Bankfield. He can do very little for himself and has been well looked after. He isn't one for getting involved in activities etc but staff do their best to get him to join in. They also keep us well informed of any issues relating to Dad.

My wife has generally received friendly and thoughtful care during her recent stay in Bankfield House. .It was particularly impressive with the Christmas decorations and events, and then later with a charming Valentine's Day event.

I was shocked at the way i was treated and my partner who is a resident there rude staff no towels in bathroom and dirty toilet had to ask for towels on the last three weeks of visiting ladies clothing in his wardrobe also clothing missing and the size of the room you wood get a prison cell bigger than what he was given for £1117 pounds per week ,no interaction with patients just left to sit there no activity of any kind patients ignored when they ask for help ,when food is served the drinks are not warm when you ring the home you get a message saying the message box is full try again later all in all it is of poor standard for what you are paying thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to raise your concern and this is not the standard of care or service we provide. All staff are trained on how to speak to relatives and loved ones and this has been raised to the management team and dealt with.

With regards to the presence of incorrect clothing and...

My mother has lived in Bankfield House Care Home for almost three years. On arrival, she was upset and frightened. She didn't eat or relate to anything or anybody - I was very worried, within weeks she was happy, smiling and eating very well. The staff at Bankfield are so caring, understanding and professional. Nothing is too much trouble and the residents' welfare is first and foremost. I am grateful to them all for their kindness and care.

I Was worried as Bankfield reputation is negative. However the turn around has been fantastic. My Dad has been to previous care home (more modern) and hated it. Here he has settled quickly and is calm and content. The consistent staff are attentive and go above and beyond.
The home cooked food, my Dad really enjoys as at previous home refused to eat.
The building is being renovated however there is still plenty of room and lots of activities for residents and it is always clean.

The staff are informative and friendly and my Dad is very happy there. All we could ask is for him to be happy and well cared for and thats what Bankfield has provided.

The carers at Bankfield House Care Home are amazing and truly care about the residents. My father-in-law is well taken care of and the carers are fully in tune with his needs. The recent upgrades to the facilities are a great improvement and the facility is now much lighter and bright. Our family truly appreciates the video calls with my father-in-law that occur on a weekly basis. There also are many activities to keep the residents engaged.

Dad has been a resident at Bankfield since 2018. He has always been cared for and treated with utmost respect by all the staff. His room is always clean and tidy and he really enjoys his meals. Although Dad struggles with a lot of the activities due to having no sight the staff encourage and support him so he can take part in as many activities as possible.

Very welcoming and supporting staff. Put our minds at ease as the resident had to go into isolation due to covid restrictions. Admin support staff also excellent, any issues dealt with promptly. All the staff are caring and excellent appropriate activities.

The resident really enjoying all the meals. I would highly recommend the home and staff.

Overall Experience

At a difficult time, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, I was able to move my mother into care at Bankfield House in August 2020. She was in her early 90's with significant dementia and moving towards end of life. The management and staff were extremely helpful, and under the circumstances, accommodated her willingly with consideration and care. Unfortunately, I was only able to visit on a couple of occasions due to 'lockdown procedures' with her safety being of the most importance. Sadly, in November she passed away suddenly but quietly having lived a full life. For the few months of her stay at the home, I believe my mother received good care in a warm, happy and friendly environment.
