My husband with dementia recently spent two weeks at Davenport Manor for respite care. I was extremely anxious about leaving him, but the manager made the process really easy.
Communication was excellent throughout.
It feels very homely and comfortable, clean and spacious, and my husband was happy
during his stay. His room had a lovely garden view, with everything he needed.
All the staff I met were cheerful, kind and caring. I would be very happy for him to spend more time here in the future.

My mum came to Davenport Manor, she was very apprehensive because she did not know anyone. 5 months down the line she has settled in and speaks highly of the staff. They are friendly helpful and always polite. She has made friends with the other residents. She does like her bed and she does sleep in
most mornings. She even enjoys a little tipple of Baileys. When asked about Davenport Manor the only thing she complains about is she didn't move in early in 2023.

We can highly recommend Davenport Manor Residential Home. The care our mother receives at the home is exceptional. The staff are fantastic, they are skilful, well trained and have a great connection with the residents. The staff have residents' care as paramount, informing and involving relatives at
all times, their experience is exceptional and have managed any issues with our mother superbly. The home is lovely, clean, and well kept with lots of space and rooms for residents to feel safe and secure. The meals are homemade in the home's kitchen to a very high standard and structured activities are always available. Our mother always looks well-kept and cared for. The highlight for us though is the staff and something we can only speak in glowing terms, their caring is outstanding and our mother is very fond of them all. Davenport Manor has been an excellent choice for our mother and we could not have asked for anything better.

We moved our lovely dad here this past November. He has dementia and is a fall risk and the need to move him happened very fast. After a quick tour of some in the area. I have given thanks every day that Davenport Manor had a room available. Finding it hard to leave Dad I visit him most days but can
tell that although he enjoys seeing me I don’t need to.
He feels great there now. So settled and relaxed it’s exactly like visiting him at his own flat. He is happy, he is calm and it’s the manager and all the staff I have to thank. Every person there, the carers, team leaders, kitchen, housekeeping, handyman and activity organiser are all lovely, responsive and kind. They make Dad feel special, he especially loves to get his hair and his nails done having always kept himself so neat. His clothes always look smart and cared for too. To know that he is respected and looked after so well puts my mind at ease.

Staff are so friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond, they can't do enough for the residents. They make my grandad feel safe and always have time for him. There are all sorts of activities going on which my grandad can join in with if he wishes to. A lovely garden to sit in when the weather permits.
He enjoys the meals and he can always ask for a cup of tea. Couldn't wish for a better place for my grandad and it also puts my mind a rest. My grandad is really looked after.

We are very happy with the care taken by our elderly aunt.
She has been looked after very well since moving into Davenport Manor.
The meals are very good with a choice for the main course and lovely puddings. The bedrooms are well furnished and always very clean and well kept. When needed the medical
care is excellent and very prompt.
My relation is very much enjoying the activities and the activities at Christmas were enjoyed by all. The entertainers and the visiting choirs.
The manager is always available, very pleasant and helpful. Thank you to all concerned.

My lovely mum was moved into Davenport Manor in January 2022 and has since been lovingly cared for by highly experienced and qualified staff. As my mum tells me often, nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff, and I feel fortunate to have my mum at this wonderful care home. I am happy knowing
that my mum is happy and is being well looked after and treated with respect and dignity. The decision to move a loving parent into residential care is a difficult and upsetting one but I made the right decision when I chose Davenport Manor. I can highly recommend placing a loved one in Davenport Manor as they will receive the best care possible. I would also like to mention that the manager is always on hand if any issues arise and the activity coordinator has been a godsend. Thank you to everyone at Davenport Manor.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.788)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.788) out of 10 for Davenport Manor Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.888 for Davenport Manor Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.888
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Davenport Manor Residential Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
