Overall Experience
My Sister found this home for my Mother when she became incapable of living on her own. It is a lovely environment with a comfortable, en-suite room overlooking a well kept garden all of which is very private whilst being within a very short walk of the market town centre.

The home feels just like that - very homely, it is not coldly clinical but relaxed whilst offering a very high level or care. Being next to the medical centre, very frequent visits from Doctors and Nurses are usual. The staff are highly professional and because they have not changed in the five years that my Mother has been resident, they know her as a person and really understand her wants and needs and they are quick to make contact with us if they have any questions or concerns about my Mother. The food is excellent with the menu being advertised on a white board daily - I often joke with the Chef that I want to stay to lunch! No-one wants to stay in a care home but this is about the best I could want for Mum.

The staff are lovely. Really care about the residents. My mum had her birthday this month and we were invited to her party they organised an entertainer. Birthday tea, balloons, gifts. All the residents were involved and it was a lovely afternoon.

Lovely old building right in the heart of Clitheroe town centre. Lovely garden at the front with shelter for residents. Staff were excellent and treated the residents with care and respect. Mums room was nice and regularly kept clean and tidy. Food appeared to be good and plentiful with a great menu that changed every day. Due to the age and layout of the building there were sometimes "traffic jams" in the corridor when getting about but nothing that was too detrimental. Overall an excellent choice for personal care in the Clitheroe area.

After viewing several care homes in the area - some of them newly built, very modern, and beautifully presented - we realised that what mattered most to us wasn't how new the furniture was or how impressive the décor looked. What truly mattered was finding somewhere that felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely homely. From the moment we walked into Lowfield House Residential Home, we knew it was different.
Lowfield House has that rare and special "home from home" feeling that simply can't be manufactured. The atmosphere is calm, friendly and reassuring, and it was immediately clear that residents are treated as individuals, not just as part of a system. That feeling was incredibly important to us when choosing the right place for our mum - and it has proved to be the right decision.

The care provided is outstanding. Every single member of staff, without exception, is caring, considerate and genuinely kind. They show patience, warmth and respect at all times, and nothing ever seems too mu

My father came to Lowfield House in March after living in a flat on his own was no longer right for him. The move to Lowfield was a godsend. My dad has described the new situation as 'magic'. Dad loves the company, the food, the cozy homely house and beautiful garden. He appreciates he is safe now and under the kind and professional care of the staff. Visiting is never a problem and the staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming.

My Aunt has been a resident of Lowfield Clitheroe for the past 9 1/2 years.
She has dementia, but understands that she lives at Lowfield and is very happy there.
Over that period of time she has faced many challenges with her health. The care and support offered by all members of staff is of the highest level and we , as a family, have the confidence that she is both safe and very well looked after.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Lowfield to anyone who was looking for a home from home for an elderly relative. Having been a regular visitor to Lowfield to see my Aunt, I appreciate the care she receives and also the support and friendship they offer to me and my family.

My mum is in this lovely home and well cared for. Her health improved after being there for 2 years although of course due to age will incur various health issues. The staff are wonderful and managers support care staff tremendously. It is an eye opener as working in care over the years never saw team work like this. I can't express my thanks as they are a credit to caring for the elderly. You all deserve a pat on the back from the management, cares, cooks, and housekeepers. Well done and thank you. Should anyone need a good care home personally or for family, rest assured this is the place. Thank you all of you.

At Lowfield all the staff have been caring and helpful during a difficult time finding the right care home for my mother-in-law. As well as providing for all her care needs, she has settled well with their support and really enjoys all the activities. She has met friends old and new and really sees it as her home now. She is happy and cared for. The staff go out of their way to support her and her family too and nothing is too much trouble. We feel she is safe, happy and well looked after which gives all her family peace of mind.

I can honestly say that I’m delighted that my parents were both moved into Lowfield House in March 23. The location is excellent, all the staff are wonderful and certainly go above and beyond what’s expected of them. The place is always clean and tidy, and all the staff are permanently cheerful. Mum sadly passed in October 23, but I am at total ease knowing Dad is being well cared for.
