Overall Experience
My dad has been in Moorhead for almost 3 years, initially the experience for him and family was not good.
Since the recent CQC inspection and 3 changes of manager I'm happy that there has been much improvement.
Carers have always been very good and have built good relationships with my dad, he has Alzheimer's and carers are very patient with him and provide very good support.
New manager, Shanaz, has made good improvements, she clearly has knowledge of the 2014 Care Act and is bringing the home up to the required standards.
Management and staff are always available to chat to and are very visible, also at weekends, which is good for me as I work full time.

There could be more activities, however overall I'm happy with the care and support provided for my dad.

My mum has been in the home for 2 years now . She is very happy here and she loves the staff .She needs 2 carers because she can't walk but they still keep her dignity by taking her to the toilet instead of hoisting her which she really appreciates

Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident of Moorhead Rest Home for some months now. She moved there after we experienced some difficulties with her previous care home. We were obviously reticent about what care she might receive as she was quite frail and suffers from dementia. She settled in quite quickly and any concerns we might have had were quickly diminished. She is very settled there and well looked after. The staff are all caring and attentive and are happy in their work environment, which makes a huge difference to what we have previously experienced. I can highly recommend Moorhead Rest Home and I am satisfied that my mum is receiving the best care.

The care home staff are warm and friendly and very competent and provide many activities. My Mother sees them very much as friends. Her room is large, extremely clean, bright and airy with a lovely view. The food is excellent - leading to some weight gain! The safety / handling facilities in the home have all been recently upgraded - with advice from many professionals - and it is good to know that the management place a great emphasis on the safety of all residents and staff. My Mother has been very happy during her 15 months in Moorhead and is looking forward to her future there.

Sadly our mother has recently passed away but we as a family we wanted to share this review:
Mum was in Moorhead for 4 ½ years and throughout that time she was always treated with loving care and dignity. Mum made friends with other residents, enjoyed activities and built strong relations with staff who cared for her with compassion and became her extended family.
Mum loved her food and enjoyed the quality meals that are served in the lovely dining room.
Sadly Mum's health deteriorated as she developed Alzheimer's, and she was not able to participate as much. This was a difficult time for us and the staff were a huge support.
We feel blessed to have found such a good home for our mum to live her last years in.

What has been wonderful and makes Moorhead so special are the staff, thank you so much for all you endless love, care, compassion and support. We will forever be grateful for everything you have done.

Overall Experience

Moorhead staff have been wonderful to our mother. We have been really pleased with the care, service and support provided and the friendliness of the staff. I live in Canada and have been delighted that staff took the time and trouble to use their own phones to connect me by video to my mum. It was lovely to chat with her. Once again, many thanks to Moorhead for providing Mum with a caring, comfortable, warm "home" for the past 2 years. Merry Christmas to all and best wishes for the New Year!
