I am writing this review as a regular visitor for over 12 months. My wife and I visit my wife's sister in law every week and from the very beginning we noticed how relaxed and very much at home she is. When chatting she said that she feels safe and very happy to be in such a lovely place. We as impartial
visitors cannot help but notice that the home employs such wonderful caring staff. We would not hesitate to recommend this particular home to anyone in need of care.

Mum moved to Grange Court in February 2025. I feel the staff are 100% dedicated to caring for residents and making sure their wellbeing is top priority.
I cannot fault the care and support that Mum is receiving at Grange Court and am truly grateful for this.

The overall aspect when visiting is a happy, safe, organisation. One occasion the seat I sat in was wet, but was removed immediately when I spoke to a member of staff. Very happy that my wife is being looked after to a high standard.

My mother is in her 10th year at Grange Court, suffering from dementia and has just celebrated her 100th birthday. This is entirely due to the excellent care she had received during this time. The management and staff are friendly, treat residents with utmost dignity and keep relatives informed. Grave
Court has 2 members of staff dedicated to providing a wide and varied range of activities, trips and entertainment, which the residents thoroughly enjoy.

My dad was in Grange Court for just over 2 months until he passed away
I can not praise the staff enough for their warmth, standard of professionalism and care. They also were lovely to me in those difficult final days.
The level of care was very high.

Excellent care at Grange Court. The home is exceptionally clean and the residents all very well cared for by the friendly staff. The home is well staffed and there is always someone on hand to discuss any concerns. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother is double incontinent and her changing needs are
dealt with, an exemplary service. I have no stress or worries about her care, we get regular updates on entertainment and activities going on during the week! I couldn't have wished for more.

Mum was cared for at Grange Court for over two and a half years. During that time the care she received was sensitive to her needs and always kind and considerate. I always found the staff to be welcoming and ready to offer information about mum striving to give the best care possible. Nothing was too
much trouble and mum's changing needs were regularly discussed and adaptations made to her environment. The manager was always available and willing to help in any way. I was initially upset when mum's dementia progressed and she required a nursing care environment but the staff and owners ensured that there was a smooth and supported transition. I couldn't have asked for more. It's a distressing time when you need to ask for your parent to be looked after in care and something I never believed I would have to do but Grange Court alleviated those feelings and looked after mum and her family in every way. Thank you I couldn't have asked for more.

Excellent friendly staff who always greet residents and visitors by their name. I am able to discuss concerns and the management report back after my visits. My mother would prefer showers more, but often only gets a bath once a week. To have more opportunity to move about and be occupied would be good.
As most residents have dementia and routine is necessary, some people would prefer an allocated chair but with the opportunity to move about sometimes and encouragement to interact more.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.540)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.540) out of 10 for Grange Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.840 for Grange Court is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.84
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grange Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
