Mum went in October 2024 until February 2025. She had complex medical needs which I felt the Care Home was not set up to deal with. She was their 1st oxygen-dependent resident.
The food served was constantly cold and as she became more incontinent she was left in wet clothing and bedding several times
which the family found her in.
The room was barely cleaned and my family were wiping the tray Mum used as the staff didn't touch it.
The shower was constantly unavailable due to no hot water or a broken boiler.
The activity staff were hardly seen and many of the activities on the board didn't happen.
The family did raise concerns and actions were taken but the general caretaking, keeping Mum clean was a big disappointment and the constant serving of cold food was a disgrace!

Although my mum spent a short time in Cherry Tree Care Centre, I can honestly say that she received exceptional care. The staff are amazing, they engage with the residents and treat them like their own family. The home is clean and tidy and doesn't smell and that is a big thing in my eyes. Care plans
were put in place as soon as my mum arrived, she was assessed straight away and they contacted the relevant people to make sure she had the right care and equipment. They looked after my Dad whilst visiting my mum and made sure he was ok at such a difficult time in our lives. Thank you to each and every one of you, I couldn't wish for my mum to be anywhere else.

My family member speaks of a very good experience within this care home during her recent respite stay. Staff are attentive and fast-acting. Plenty of staff at hand which was one of the main points I looked for when looking for my mother-in-law's stay. Food looked lovely and nutritious and any queries
I had as a family member were addressed and attended to in a fast and safe manner. Will be recommending to family and friends and will 100% be using this service again for further respite stays.

I have been very impressed by the changes made to Cherry Tree Centre since the new manager came. The new furniture, colours to doors has made such an improvement to the overall atmosphere in the home. The staff appear to be more relaxed and happy since the new manager and I feel that there is a great
effort to respond to individual needs and to respect the privacy of individual residents.

The carers are really good with everyone and will help you if you need it. The only problem I have is the turnover of carers. They seem to be one gone and one come every week so it is hard to have good communication with them and at times they seem very thin on the ground.

My mother came to Cherry Tree in September 2017 since then I find the staff extremely helpful and supportive towards my mother, she seems to have settled quite well and although we miss her I know she is in good hands.
A big thank you to all the staff for making my mum feel right at home!

This is a lovely home with very caring and astute management with carers who go above and beyond expectations to keep mum (who isn't an easy person) happy and contented.
I feel totally relaxed knowing mum is warm, looked after and well fed.

As soon as you walk into the foyer you are greeted by happy residents and care staff. The manager is always full of smiles and chatty as is the admin lady. The home is always bright and smells fresh. My mum is happy as larry since she moved.

She is happy and she socialises more as its lovely that

she can sit in the foyer and interact. I can't praise all the staff enough from the cleaners up to the manager. Thank you Cherry Tree for making my mum's life happy, which in turn makes ours happy too.

What a special place this is, so happy kind and caring. Mum went into Cherry Tree Care Home for 3 weeks respite starting 13/2/16 and from day one mum was made to feel welcome and at home straight away. The staff are unbelievably caring, kind and very understanding. We as a family can't thank the staff
enough, we all felt at ease when we left mum to come home, which when in this situation is hard to find. Mum came home for 10 days and struggled, mum has now returned to the home for more respite which may become permanent. This will now not be a worry for us as she will be returning to her home away from home. A home to be proud of.
Thank you everyone.

Current Review Score: 2.5 (2.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 2.5 (2.500) out of 10 for Cherry Tree Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 2.5 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0.0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 2.500 for Cherry Tree Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (1 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 2.5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cherry Tree Care Centre is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
