Hello, I’m Tharangani Colombage, the Clinical Lead Nurse at Elmsfield House. Most people call me Tara!
I’m a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK) and the Nursing Council of Sri Lanka, and I bring more than 17 years of nursing experience to my role.
I began my career in Sri Lanka, where I worked for over 13 years in acute, critical, and trauma care. Since moving to the UK, I’ve spent the past four years working in adult care settings, supporting older adults with nursing, dementia, and palliative care needs.
My main goal is simple — to support residents to be healthy, safe, and comfortable, while ensuring people feel valued and respected. I’m passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care, whilst supporting our wonderful team of to reach their full potential.
I hold a B.Sc. Special in Nursing (Trauma elective, 2017) and a Diploma in General Nursing (2008), which covered medical, surgical, and mental health nursing.
These qualifications, together with years of hands-on experience, have helped me build a strong sense of clinical judgment and leadership skills.
Every person has a story — and I believe great care begins with listening. I’m proud to be part of a home where compassion, professionalism, and teamwork come together to make a real difference.
