My mum was a resident for 3 years. Completely satisfied with all areas of the home. At the beginning, the language barrier was difficult for mum with some of the staff. Regular chiropody, hairdresser visits again, this was a plus for mum. Overall, both mum and I were happy, which eased the stress of mum losing her independence from living alone and looking after her

My dad lived at Warrendale for two years until he passed away recently. He was very happy there. It has a lovely homely atmosphere and the staff are kind, patient and caring. They are also quick to attend to any medical needs and the local GP sends in a doctor and nurse to visit regularly. The gardens are a real feature and include fruit trees, vegetable beds, chickens and areas for the residents to walk around or just sit and enjoy the sun. There are regular activities for the residents, for example quizzes, music and dancing, barbecues in the summer plus they bring in young children from a local nursery and various animals to keep the residents stimulated. I can recommend this care home.

Dad was at Warrendale for about 5 months until his dementia got to the point that he needed EMI care. It was a difficult decision to move dad to a home after being his primary carer for the past 3 years and having him in my own home for the last 6 months, but Sarah, Jolly and her team made this move so much easier for me and I cant thank them enough for the time and care they showed him, going above and beyond in their care for him. I was always kept fully updated and informed straight away on any medication changes. Some visits from family members left dad very unsettled but the team were really compassionate and went to great lengths to help me settle him. The home itself is welcoming and friendly with lovely gardens that dad used to enjoy walking around. I wouldn't hesitate to put anyone I love into this home

Thanks for your review Mike. Your Dad was a pleasure to have with us for those 5 months. I know that our staff did all they could to make your dad feel at home, supporting his needs and involving him with activities, even helping build the chicken run! I know your time and care has made his...

This place is awful, it advertises dementia care!! It hasn't, my dad went downhill by the day here, the owner is very difficult to deal with her and the staff are visibly frightened of her. Myself and other family members were stopped visiting on numerous occasions and told it was in my dad's best interest, it wasn't it was to make life easier for the staff and he went downhill more by not seeing his family, visiting is very restricted and always needed to make an appointment before going although talking to other relatives this wasn't the case for all!!! The owner will reply to this as she only replies to the negative reviews which also says a lot???? I wouldn't want anyone I love to be living here, I also asked for a meeting with the owner who tried to put me off asking for me to email my questions, I did have the face to face meeting but she turned up with no information about my dad at all!!!

Firstly this is not really a review, it is more of a slanderous malicious personal attack against myself. Warrendale is a residential home which also provides care for those with Dementia, all staff are trained and experienced. Unfortunately, due to this residents needs, the home manager worked...

My Mother was a resident at Warrendale until her recent passing. I cannot praise Warrendale enough, both from the care and support given to my Mother to the warm friendly welcome we received on our visits from the staff. The layout of Warrendale is something to behold from its spacious bedrooms to it's living rooms, snug area and concert room. Outside there is a Summer House, and a large garden to stroll around. A wonderful, wonderful place..

My husband was very happy at Warrendale. Not at first but he soon adapted. Hopefully, he can have some respite care later on in the year. Our family were very impressed with the standard of care and the beautiful surroundings. Thank you.

Sadly my mum passed January this year. Mum was very happy at Warrendale Cottage and always had something exciting to tell us about what she had been doing or what was happening. Mum was always treated with respect, dignity and compassion and empathy to the end of her life. The family too were always greeted with a warm welcome. During Mum's last weeks, the staff were so supportive to the family and nothing was too much trouble. The family felt that Mum was part of Warrendale family. Thank you does not truly express the gratitude and appreciation we hold for all the staff and everything they did for Mum.

My uncle has now lived at Warrendale for 18 months and the care he has received has been excellent. He has during this time not been in the best of health and the staff have been very caring regarding getting him better.

We visit every week and have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful.

My sister is a resident of the home, and after looking at many other homes found it significantly superior to them. My brother-in-law was also a resident at the home prior to him having to move to a nursing home. This is not a nursing home but a residential care home and the staff are not nursing staff but very caring. The building is very spacious and the residents are not on top of one another with several different rooms to relax in.

A very pleasant home for my mum with caring staff.
An example of which:-

I take Mum out for a drive on most Sundays. This Sunday I was told by two separate staff members to make sure my mum was wrapped up well as she had a cough. This may seem a little thing but both staff members came out of their way to advise me of this.

My mother resided in this care home for two weeks and it was two weeks of hell. Staff had no training in dementia. My mother wasn't washed for the two weeks she was there and not given the medication she required. The so-called manager was very inexperienced and had no idea of the care process and procedures. The owner held back my mother's deposit money and tried to say it was used for hairdressing and foot treatment, that wasn't true. North Wales police resolved this issue. Safeguarding were also reported. Owner very difficult to deal with and staff rude.

Reply from Sarah Kirby, Responsible Individual at Warrendale Cottage

This family was very happy with the care at Warrendale. The son even said "don't worry mum you're not going anywhere else". Unfortunately, we had to inform them(in the trial period) that we would not be able to meet their mother's needs. At this point, the family became aggressive and intimidating...

My mother was in Warrendale from September 2015 until her recent passing. We could not have chosen a better home for her when she could no longer cope on her own. The staff are friendly and welcoming to visitors - there is always a happy buzz about the place. Mum was treated with kindness, and loving care. She was always beautifully dressed, with hair and hands well-cared-for and regular chiropodist visits. Mum's room, as all the rooms, was immaculately clean and cosy. She was absolutely contented there. Thank you, Warrendale.

It is such a relief that my relative now resides at Warrendale Cottage. It is situated in a lovely area of North Wales and the homely, clean environment always makes it a pleasure to visit my relative there.
From making our initial enquiry to my relative moving in, we were supported by all the staff at Warrendale Cottage. My relative has been helped to settle well by the excellent care provided by the staff.
The extensive and varied activity programme keeps my relative entertained, active and happy. Some of the highlights of her week include a visit from a group of nursery children and the therapy dog.

I am very happy to have been able to secure a place for my relative at Warrendale Cottage and would highly recommend this care home.

I was very happy during my three week respite stay. The staff were extremely helpful and made every effort to minimise my discomfort as I had a complete knee replacement one week prior to my stay. They liaised with the district nurse and my doctor. They arranged visits/medication as required. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone. Well done to everyone.
