I have been here for over a year. I cannot find any fault with the care home. The staff are very willing to help with anything. I have nothing but respect for all staff and are made welcome, very much appreciated.

Having had my dad stay at Orme View for over a year before he passed away recently, I can only thank and commend the manager and his team at Orme View for their dedication and kindness towards not only my dad, but to our family as well. We could call at any time, were always kept informed and the team
were always prepared to listen to the family and to adapt to my dad's needs as they changed over the year. The care they gave him especially in the final few weeks is so much appreciated. Would highly recommend Orme View.

My nan moved to Orme View a few months back and she absolutely loves it.
The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. I’m offered tea and cake every time I visit which is always a nice touch.
The management is lovely and they always check how we are as a family which I find really heart-warming,
they do always seem to be at Orme View which is a nice touch to see.
They have a wide range of activities going on which my nan seems to enjoy as she always rings me up to tell me about what she’s been up to that week.
On occasions when I visit I hear some of the staff singing through the corridors with the residents and the songs can vary and you just know they are enjoying themselves. Such a home-from-home vibe.

My mother moved to Orme View Residential Home in April 2023, and was there until her death in November 2023. She had moved from independent living, where she had been for just a few months, but it became apparent very quickly that she had become too frail for that setting. She was assessed by the management
team from Orme View, and a bed was made available very quickly for her.
While my mother did not want to be in residential care, the staff there made it easy for her, and became very fond of her, in spite of her being rather cantankerous! She was always smart, and well kept.
The care that she received, throughout her stay there, was second to none, and I would, and have, recommended it to others. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were keen for her to be happy there, rather than move her again as her needs increased. The care she received towards the end of her life was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to recommend the home.

My mum went into Orme View in June 2023 and I cannot overstate how caring and friendly all the staff are. My mum is treated with love and dignity and her wishes and feelings are always the first consideration for all the staff including the owner and management. She is always clean and smartly dressed
and is very content to be a resident. The food is excellent and varied and there is usually something going on in the lounge to entertain the residents (if they want to be). Nothing is ever too much trouble. All of us feel very fortunate to be able to have found Orme View for Mum. I have absolutely no concerns about her since she moved in. I would absolutely recommend this family-run care home to anybody.

My mother has been in Orme View for about 9 months. The staff are friendly and attentive. My mother has received excellent care during that time and the staff have worked hard to help her settle. They have provided support to enable her to gain strength, confidence and independence. They have also provided
emotional support through Covid-19 lockdown periods. She has been encouraged to interact with the other guests and to take part in planned activities. The home has worked within Covid-19 regulations to enable me to maintain contact, through indoor visits, outdoor visits and video calls.

We were very lucky to be able to place my Mum into this excellent Care Home. At Orme View, there is a culture of treating each resident like a family member. This extends from the owners right through the team at all levels. The Carers themselves are a delight. Even during the pandemic, Orme View moved
heaven and earth to keep the residents not only safe but happy and informed too. After all, the elderly residents deserve courtesy and respect and at Orme View that is very evident. The atmosphere is professional, yet relaxed and homely. The attention to detail and willingness to help and accommodate are first class. The owners are very hands-on and available. For Mum, apart from general assistance, food is very important for her and she constantly remarks how excellent the meals are. For my Mum to say that is high praise indeed. I feel extremely lucky that Mum was accepted at Orme View, and more importantly, she herself says she is happy!

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.483)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.483) out of 10 for Orme View Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.983 for Orme View Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.983

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Orme View Residential Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 15 registered maximum number of service users is 3, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
