My mother is a long term resident at The Laurels. The home is clean and bright with a lovely garden. Fresh food is cooked onsite every day by the excellent catering team. A programme of activities and events is provided and updates and photos are regularly posted on the social media page, this is a
great way for relatives to keep in touch. The home is smaller than many, with about 20 residents, so it is much easier to get to know the people that live there and the staff, as a result my mother has made some firm friends. We have always found the staff to be wonderful, helpful, friendly and caring. Any issues or problems are flagged and dealt with and staff are keen to keep us up to date.

Such a lovely care home. My mum is so well looked after and is very content at the Laurels. There are plenty of activities and the food is exceptional. Staff are great at letting us know how things are and react well to any requests we have.

Wonderful Care Home. Fantastic staff. Look after my Dad so well. The family are kept updated about Dad, we're on the Laurels social media page & enjoy seeing pics & vids of all the event's & activities. Me & my sister live a long way from The Laurels, so these updates are so special for us.

The Care home has a welcoming atmosphere with caring staff.
The feedback from office and carers is very good in general and very efficient when any issues arise
be it for medical or administrative. Visiting can be arranged and is usually flexible, with site visits always
a good experience from a
personal point off view.

I am a family member of a resident based at the Laurels .
I am not able to write a comprehensive review as it has been just 6 months that my parent has moved to the laurels
The main thing that any family member wants is for their loved ones to be cared for and from what I have experienced the staff
are supportive , caring and treat our loved ones like close family members so feel comfortable with dad being looked after
They will call with any issues and seem to have good core team members of staff
The outside garden space is vast the rooms always neat and tidy and I would recommend
Dad is very forgetful and I have not been able to visit as of late but feel comfortable dad is well looked after and would recommend

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.403)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.403) out of 10 for The Laurels is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.803 for The Laurels is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.803
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Laurels is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
