Our mum was accepted into this care home, and by her own admission, she was nervous and a little worried about the change happening to her living accommodation, and her move from a one to one carer, to a communal home.
She first had a room which was ok but Mums needs werethat a room differently laid
out would suit her better.
So asking the manager, when a different room became available, could she move ??
ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM!! mum was moved and she is so happy now, she loves the room !! She loves the food , and the whole staff team couldn't be kinder , we are so happy hat Mum is happy and content in her new home !!! THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF

My Mother was really neglected here. Please do not send any of your relatives here. My Mum has really deteriorated the last 2 Years I kept telling the Management and nothing was done. In the End I had to make appointments with The Dementia team and GP about My Mother's physical health. Because Castle
Court residential home basically didn't care. I made a complaint to the Care Inspectorate for Wales and all of a Sudden my Mother was being evicted. All Because I highlighted their incompetence and negligence. Unbelievable!

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry communication broke down as early as January 2025. Your mum was a valued member of our community, and we remained committed to her well-being. We took your concerns seriously and consulted with multidisciplinary teams, even when interventions seemed unnecessary. As her needs changed, we assessed her needs and concluded we could no longer provide the specialist care required. We issued notice in line with our duty of care and regulatory obligations. We understand this was a difficult time and acknowledge your decision to contact regulatory bodies. Despite challenges, our team supported her transition to a new care home, where she settled well. We were happy to assist with the move, especially given your limited availability. We remain committed to compassionate, professional care and appreciate your engagement.

Myself and my wife think, that the care team are extremely kind and very caring to all the residents in the home and from speaking to a few residents they really like it in there. They have told us that the food is very nice and the cooks/chefs are very good to all as well. The care home is very tidy,
where ever you look. They have made a good job of the home.

The care that my mother-in-law has received since she was admitted to Castle Court has been excellent. She feels loved and supported by all the staff there and it truly is home to her. Nothing is too much trouble and she is always treated with dignity and respect. The staff are warm and welcoming to
us as her family, which is important as we don't live nearby. We feel confident that she receives the best possible care from a superb, wonderful and caring staff team.

Really good care given in a very homely way, rather than a clinical environment. Mom's bedroom, in particular, is large, light and airy.

Whatever time you visit and whoever is there the quality of care and interest in the wellbeing of the residents is all of the highest order.
I also appreciate the effort to introduce variety into the lives of residents with activities and outside visits. There are often reports of mistreatment in
residential homes - I have no doubts whatsoever that this is not applicable at Castle Court and I am so grateful for all staff there.

My mother has settled in well. The staff are very good and take the time to get to know each resident. The atmosphere when you enter is always welcoming and the ladies in charge of entertainment make an enormous effort and the hairdresser. The home is very clean and the chef makes an effort to accommodate
every diet. The gardens are beautiful to sit in when the weather is warm enough.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.225)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.225) out of 10 for Castle Court Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.050 for Castle Court Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (33 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.05
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.175 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Castle Court Residential Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.8
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
