Parkside is a warm and supportive residential home for adults with complex autism, learning disabilities, specialist communication needs, behaviours that may challenge, and emotional or sensory support needs. Situated in a spacious detached house in Maesycwmmer near Caerphilly, the home provides a safe and tailored environment where people are encouraged to live meaningful and independent lives. The team also supports individuals with higher-level needs, including those who require 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 support.

The home is designed to promote independence, featuring four self-contained apartments, each with a private bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area, and dedicated staff space. A shared communal area offers opportunities for socialising, while the enclosed garden provides a calm outdoor space. Each person has their own front door, creating a sense of ownership and privacy within a supportive setting. The location offers parking and easy access to public transport.

Support at Parkside is shaped around each individual’s strengths, routines, and goals. The team focuses on daily living skills, confidence building, communication, wellbeing, and personal choice, following both Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Active Support. People are supported to enjoy activities such as gardening, cooking, swimming, trampolining, attending events, exploring hobbies, and taking part in cultural or religious celebrations. Activities and outings are risk assessed to ensure safety while encouraging growth and enjoyment.

Everyone is actively involved in shaping their care through regular meetings, reflective sessions, and co-produced plans, with families welcomed and included throughout. Parkside offers a warm, reassuring environment where individuals feel listened to, supported, and valued.

Hannah Doherty

Job Title: Regional Manager Joined: 2024

Meet Hannah, our Regional Manager for Wales.

Hannah Doherty is a Partnership of Care Regional Manager. Her career began while studying Psychology at university in Manchester, where she developed a strong understanding of human behaviour and mental health. This early learning shaped her interest in care. After graduating, she moved to South Wales to begin her journey with Partnership of Care. It was the start of a long and rewarding career in the health and social care sector.

Over the next decade, Hannah progressed through a wide range of roles. She worked as a Support Worker, Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, and later Service Delivery Manager. Each position helped her grow her skills, build confidence, and deepen her understanding of residential and supported living services. As a result, she gained a well-rounded knowledge of what high-quality, person-centred support looks like in practice.
Dedicated to nurturing safe, consistent, and personalised support.

In September 2024, Hannah was promoted to Regional Manager, a role she is extremely proud of. She now oversees multiple services across Wales, ensuring that every individual receives safe, consistent, and personalised support. Her leadership style is rooted in compassion, teamwork, and a deep commitment to improving quality of life.

Hannah’s practice is strongly influenced by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). She is also a certified PBM ABMU trainer, delivering training that encourages proactive, respectful approaches to behaviour. In addition, she has experience using the TEACCH framework, which supports individuals with autism and developmental disabilities through structured teaching and adaptable environments.

Hannah is dedicated to creating positive, supportive settings for both the people supported and the teams she leads. She works hard to ensure that everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered every day.
