Amazing doesn't cover how wonderful a home Florence Justice is. My father-in-law has moved from another home close by. The standard of care is excellent, and dignity, understanding, compassion, and friendliness are evident to anyone who visits. My father-in-law is thriving since he moved homes. His mobility is improving and he is settled, stimulated, safe and importantly happy. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the staff are fantastic, the manager and her deputy manager have been wonderful, as are all the staff I have met in the last month. There is music playing, activities, and staff are present and engaging with residents. The whole home is spotless, rooms are clean and personalised. I would highly recommend Florence Justice to families looking for the highest standards of care for their loved ones; whilst being providing a caring, safe environment, by staff who are warm and kind to all the residents and their individual needs. I would like to express my great thanks for the warm and professional care of my mother who has been a resident of Florence Justice since 2022. Settling in, after a lifetime of being independent in her own home, has not been without challenges but the kindness and understanding of the staff have helped my mum accept her new surroundings. She has a cosy, bright, comfortable and clean room. The staff are exceptionally kind. At the great age of 100, my mum needs close attention and care and I feel confident that she receives this with dignity. Coming to terms with a loved parent living in residential care is not easy, or at times comfortable for the children who must make such decisions, but the Florence Justice family have helped us through my mum's transition from a fiercely independent older person to a cared for resident surrounded by an incredible team of people who genuinely care about her and provide for her, anticipating all her needs to keep her happy and safe.

My mum has been living at Florence Justice Christian Residential Home since January 2023. As a family, we were initially worried about how or if Mum would settle in. We are now so pleased and relieved to see just how happy Mum is. We checked out Florence Justice prior to our mum going there, as we had previously visited another home which we thought was not suitable for our lovely mother. Upon our arrival, we were met by a member of staff and also the wife of the owner. We were made so welcome by these two friendly ladies and given a tour of the home's impressive facilities. We were shown what was to be Mum's room which was being decorated prior to her arrival. The staff at this residential home are so well-trained by the management and owners that anyone who goes there, whether to stay, work or visit, are all made to feel as though they are part of one big, happy family. Everyone is known by their first name. Whenever we visit we feel part of this family. We are kept updated about Mum's well-being. Food and entertainment are superb.

We have a dedicated training team and all staff have individual training and development plans. We regularly meet with individual staff members and take an active part in supporting with both in-house and formal health and social care qualifications. We run regular workshops and monthly training topics. We take a considered and nurturing approach to staff, their welfare and always work towards improving the quality of their working day. In return, our loyal and dedicated staff take the same approach when caring for the amazing people living at Florence. This is, of course, extended to our wonderful families.

I have thanked the manager and the care team for the excellent care they provided for my mum from June 2022 to May 2023 but I would like to share with the public that I would highly recommend Florence Justice for future care for yourself or a loved one. My mum came to the home from Hospital where the care she was given was quite poor. She had lost a severe amount of weight, had poor mobility and was just declining. The care team at Florence Justice took the time to build my mum back up. It was not long before she had gained weight, was walking using her frame and back to her old self, laughing, joking, singing and joining in activities. Florence Justice gave me my mum back. The care team always gave me a regular update on my mums health, sharing any concerns and also sharing funny, meaningful moments they shared with my mum. The team work very hard to ensure all residents receive person centred care. They are all loved as they would their own.

A Big part of my day is working with the care staff to support our residents with their individual needs, which means making sure their care plans match their changing needs, and reviewing care plans regularly which helps us spot any patterns/concerns with residents’ care. Person-centred care planning helps us ensure that we are providing the best possible care and the right environment for our residents. Every day is different and as a Manager, I have to be ready for anything and everything.
I like to start my day by speaking to every resident and checking on their wellbeing. I work daily across the Home Teams and with lots of different care professionals. We Managers have regular care meetings where we discuss the care and support needs of the residents and how we can best meet the very best outcomes for each one respectively. I have over 30 years of professional experience in taking care of individuals. I have worked at Florence Justice since 2009 and previously at other residential and community care settings. One of my proudest achievements was in my early thirties- it was passing my driving test. I was extremely anxious but managed to achieve this. My son was small at the time and I knew I had to do this so I could get him to the afterschool activities he wanted to attend. I'm a very determined lady.

I have spent my time expanding my knowledge and experience of caring for people by working in the nursing sector. It is nice to return to Florence and apply my learned skills in a very Senior role.
My Managers and care staff say I am very good at my job and I have a great deal of responsibility. The staff look to me daily to organise the day and prioritise the care people receive, and I do this fully supported by the guidance given by my Managers. I like to lead, guide, teach and advise staff on best practices, and I am a very good listener. I take the greatest pride in my role as a Senior Care Assistant at Florence Justice. I have worked at Florence Justice since September 2014, so I am very experienced with taking care of people in a communal setting.
My job is to lead, guide and teach less experienced staff in good care practices and procedures. I also assume the role of Champion for infection control within the Home; it is my responsibility to audit regularly our Home and staff practices to ensure we are compliant with all health and safety legislation and best practice guidelines. I enjoy my role very much.
I have many qualifications, as Florence Justice is a teaching home, so we are consistently upskilling and expanding our knowledge in all areas concerning the care of people.
