Overall Experience

"My mother was a resident at Bryn Y Mor for some time, and throughout her stay, she was always kept clean, tidy, and exceptionally well-cared for. The staff are truly brilliant, and I have nothing but praise for the level of care provided. While the driveway potholes and some areas of the building could use a bit of updating, the heart of the home is its people. My mother recently passed away there, and I want to specifically thank Amanda, Ceri, and Delyth for being so wonderful during such a hard time. Thank you all."

As my husband is quite poorly at the moment I can visit any time the staff there is very special and caring both for my husband and myself. He is so well looked after always dry & clean and the home itself is spotless and the food excellent and the staff takes time to make sure he eats it all. I just can't describe how excellent it is in every way - 100/100.

Having viewed 3 other care homes before Bryn y Mor, I have never regretted the decision to place my friend (for whom I have POA) in Bryn y Mor. It is almost 3 years since my friend became residents, and after the initial settling down she has been as happy here as she could possible be.
My overriding view of Bryn y Mor is of the cleanliness and friendliness of the place, and the carers are absolutely wonderful. They show a heartwarming level of genuine care, compassion, and respect.

When my friend returned from a couple of days in hospital recently, she was greeted ack by the staff as if she were family. Definitely the right choice of care home.

My brother needs 24 hour care & I searched lots of different care homes for dementia. Which just wasn't suitable at all.
I visited Bryn y Mor & found exactly what my brother needed.
They allowed me to change the room to suit my brother & make everything similar to his previous flat. He instantly settled in like home from home.
If I ever phone to ask to help him with his phone & TV they go above & beyond to help him.
The staff are all very friendly & the floor manager always deals with any concerns you have & puts your mind at rest.
I never wanted my brother to go into care but it's the best decision I made choosing Bryn Y Mor.

Thank you to all the staff.

Review from A J (Relative of Resident) published on 1 July 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our relative has settled well in Bryn y Môr where the staff are caring, kind and sensitive to her needs. Within the first fortnight of being at Bryn y Môr, she has improved rapidly with her physical ability from being totally unable to move or stand independently, to by now getting up from her chair and walking with the aid of a frame with the staff being always caring, available to assist and responsive to her needs.
She enjoys listening to the musical entertainment and activities provided.

We are always felt welcome when visiting and know that we would be able to approach any member of staff for information or advice if the need arises. The Home is always clean and tidy and with magnificent views.

Food still inadequate, one fish finger for lunch today (9th September).
Men wandering the corridor still opening the door and sometimes coming in and frightening her.
She sees no one apart from when they bring food and drink, unless she buzzes but then she has opted to stay in her room.
She was recently poorly and antibiotics didn't seem to be working and she felt no one was listening to her.
She worried that there was not a qualified nurse onsite so felt unsafe.
When I take her food, she seems to think people (who?) take it, I don't know if this is the case or not.

Staff seem lovely.

Deeply saddening to receive this review. Management is always available to discuss any concerns, be it either face to face or via email and staff are also very approachable. Firstly thank you for bringing in items that the individual liked as well as their food supplied by BYM, in regards to 1 fish...

Review from Hughie M (Son of Resident) published on 9 August 2024 Submitted via Website

The staff at the care home are great but there's simply not enough employed to run the operation effectively. There are times when residents walk into other people's rooms, which is not good. Consequently, this has resulted in property going missing. I'm always made to feel welcomed when I visit my mother and this is truly very much appreciated. It's such a shame that there's not enough staff employed, as the staff work really hard to try and cover the shortfalls. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to all at the care home.

Thank you for your review, also for your kind comments regarding how hard the staff at Bryn Y Mor do work. Bryn Y Mor is a lovely care home. Residents are well cared for and staff are warm and kind. It's set in a beautiful location and is clean and well-maintained. There are some extra activities like fitness classes. The manager responds quickly to emails and is helpful. Mum has a lovely room with en-suite.

My sister is happy at the care home and eating a lot better and always clean. Only negative thing is she is not always wearing her own clothes in her wardrobe. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I think some of the residents should go sit in the sun and get fresh air.

Lovely place with amazing views. Always clean and tidy, Mum seems settled here (Alzheimer's), beds are changed regularly, washing done daily. Very happy to have Mum closer to me now. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful, nothing is too much bother for them. My only minor issue is no landlines to individual rooms, Mum has a mobile but is always fiddling with it and turning if off (the staff are good about turning it back on!)

This is a lovely place with very good staff. Mum in law is 82 & has dementia, she is happy here & is well looked after, always clean & tidy, hair & nails done regularly. The staff banter with her which is what she likes, but I have also seen them with other residents & they are all treated well & with respect. They have regular entertainment here & the odd day out, they have a trip to Pringles coming up in August. They keep us informed when Mum in law is not well & have the doctor out to visit if necessary. As a family we are happy with the care received & would highly recommend Bryn Y Mor.
