Glencairn House is open to visitors for most of the day. The Care Home follows best practice in maintaining the dignity of the Residents who live at the Care Home and request that visitors avoid meal-times. Visitors will be supported in any request made to dine with a Resident, this can be arranged by simply approaching a member of the team and making the request, the Care Home supports family dining where ever appropriate.
Glencairn House has two car parks, one at the front of the building and another to the rear of the building. Special arrangements can be made where there has been a request to allow for specific transportation such as specialized mobility cars/vans etc. Anyone wishing to make a special request only has to make this known to the team and provision will be made.

Glencairn House tries to reach the balance between offering Residential Care Packages to both Local Authority and Private Care Seekers. The quality of the care experienced by Residents will be no different no matter how a package is funded, Private Care Seekers will have the choice of different Room Categories, size, decor, quality of fixtures and fittings, views etc.
Colin McBurnie is the General Manager at Glencairn House (Mailler & Whitelaw Trust). Colin has decades of experience within the Care Home Sector and came to the Trust initially as an Independent Consultant.
After spending several months engaging with the Care Home, Residents and Staff, Colin decided to stay and make Glencairn House his work Home.
Colin explained to the Trustees that he had fallen in love with the Care Home and the setting, nestled in the Perthshire Countryside.
Colin is focused on making Glencairn House the prime Residential Care Home in the area. To achieve this, the ethos of the Care Home is "Residents First". Karen has grown as a professional and gained her wealth of experience by working through various roles within Glencairn House.
She is a key staff member, having a sound understanding of excellence in care delivery; she is able to support and guide the team on a daily basis.
Karen is excited by the refresh of the Care Homes environment and future service development. She is also a great support to the Senior Manager.
Madu is one of the Care Homes' newest Senior Care Assistants, having worked as a Care Assistant, developing her skills over the past few years.

Demi is a real success story and shows how the Home has evolved with the staff.
Demi started as a young girl caring for the very special Residents at Glencairn House. Demi then developed her knowledge and skills, leading to her recently becoming a Registered Nurse.
As a Residential Care Home, we are very blessed by having two Registered Nurses, and Demi is the latest addition.
We were so very pleased to celebrate Demi's graduation recently. The residents at Glencairn House will benefit from Demi's contemporary approach to Adult Nursing needs.
Pranita is one of the newer members of the Glencairn Team. Pranita came to us from Nepal, where English is the second language. Pranita has quickly become a very popular member of the Team and has made those essential professional bonds with the Residents living at Gelncairn House.
Steph is the Lead Chef at Glencairn House. Steph has a long relationship with the Care Home and, after a short time away, has come back under the new Management of the service.
She has an in-depth knowledge of the Residents at Glencairn House. This is essential to understanding dietary requirements, be that for medical or Cultural/Spiritual/Religious reasons.
Steph is passionate about delivering a quality Meal-Time experience. Family members can get involved by asking a member of the Team, when dining with a Family member or Friend is requested.
Janet is part of the fantastic Housekeeping Team. Janet has been with Glencairn House for many years and is a vital part of the system, keeping all of the Residents in a lovely environment. Residents can rest assured their garments will be carefully looked after when being laundered; extra special care can be taken with more luxury items such as fine woollens.
Edith is one of the Care Homes' shining lights. Edith is yet another staff member studying to become a professional in her field of choice. Meantime Glencairn House and the Residents benefit from her enthusiasm and caring aptitude.
Fiona is our 2nd Chef and has bags of experience in food preparation. Fiona approached Glencairn House after hearing locally about the fantastic work being done on behalf of our Residents and promptly became part of the multi-skilled Team.
Lee brings a wealth of experience to Glencairn House, coming from a civil engineering background, he is a real asset to the service.
The Maintenance Professionals are vital to the smooth running of the Care Home and ensure the 7 day a week 24 hour a day operation is not interrupted.
Janice is yet another very important Professional at Glencairn House, ensuring the Housekeeping Team is coordinated and remains a well-oiled machine.
With our "Residents First" ethos, it takes great care and attention to ensure the Care Home is free from infection and kept to an impeccable standard of cleanliness, as well as making sure Residents' personal garments are cared for to the highest standard.
As part of the senior Team, Janice liaises with the Management Team and ensures there are clear communication channels with the wider Team.
