I cannot praise the staff and management of Breffni Lodge highly enough.
Throughout her time there, my late Mum was treated with respect and dignity, and the level of care provided was second to none.
She was a naturally anxious person and had been in respite elsewhere having moved directly to care
from the hospital. However, within days of moving into Breffni, she was very much at ease and constantly described the staff as "lovely people".
Breffni Lodge is an older building which has been adapted to serve as a residential home. It is less "fancy" than the more modern purpose-built premises. However, it is kept spotlessly clean, and the residents are well cared for. There are often activities organised for the residents - entertainers, coffee outings, even a taxi trip around the lights at Christmas!
I had no qualms about my Mum during her time at Breffni. I knew that the staff would take immediate action if she seemed unwell and keep me informed throughout.
Very highly recommended.

My mother-in-law (recently deceased), spent her last happy 7 months in Breffni Lodge Residential Care Home. The manager and her staff are just absolutely fabulous girls, going above and beyond their duties with genuine love and empathy for the residents. Her transition was made so easy for her and
ourselves at an emotional time in our lives. She did not think she would every experience happiness again after previous experiences, but she did and was so happy and content, and settled very quickly. I experienced the excellent care first hand, as I called in unannounced early in morning, lunch time, late at night, and was always greeted with warmth and a cup of tea, bowl of home made soup, or big slice of pavlova. Weekly outings, birthday parties, music afternoons, animal visits, foot massages, weekly hairdresser, nail painting, sing-a-longs are all part of the routine of Breffni Lodge. There is always a smell of freshly washed clothes greeting you as you enter the front door. Everything is spotless and fresh, and the rooms are cleaned daily. The meals are of restaurant quality and every residents needs and wants are met. The staff have always time for a back-scratch, hand massage or hair combing, anything that comforts our loved ones. These girls do not do this job for money but out of love. Our family became part of the Breffni family, and we will miss the staff and residents now she has passed. We will never be able to thank the staff enough and we will miss them so much.
