Treat you like a child, they do not know how to run a residential facility home. The management keeps threatening myself with 28 days' notice and it's like walking on eggshells. If you buy a resident a gift they take it off them. A resident was in hospital for 7 day's and had no clothes to change into, only had a gown to wear. The management knew this and done nothing! I was put in Towell House against my will and they asked me to pay £106 a week out of my £140 a week sickness benefit! The hospital said I had to only go to Towell House! So I refuse to pay anything to Towell House.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. These matters, as you are aware, relate to safeguarding, and while we cannot discuss details publicly, we can confirm that all issues raised have been fully reviewed and are not upheld. Placement decisions and financial assessments are made by external health...
My mum was a resident until recently and was a resident for just over 2 years. The staff are caring, patient and treat residents with respect. If they can they will accommodate residents wishes within the bounds of residential care. A varied choice of activities and are always open to suggestions and encourage residents to join in.
Hi Caroline, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your feedback means a lot to us and helps us continue providing the best service possible.
The staff are outstanding. They are patient and friendly. Very helpful. They address the residents by name. This was my first visit and I was impressed. The activities are also great and proactive. Beautiful gardens and setting.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a positive review. We will pass feedback on to our team.
Mum has only been resident in Towell House for approximately 6 weeks but in that time appears to have settled in really well. The home is clean, warm and welcoming. Mum enjoys the food and the company. Everyone is kind and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The activities are many and varied and while mum may not partake in them all she seems to enjoy watching and can always go to her room if it's too much for her. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your care. As it is early days there is so much we have yet to learn but so far, very impressive.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am glad that your Mum has settled in well and we will pass feedback on to our staff.
My mother was accepted to the care home in May. Staff were friendly and understanding. We were confident our loved one is well cared for. Residents are encouraged to join in the several activities that are offered each day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is very encouraging to receive such positive feedback and will be passed on to staff.
Mum went into Towell House after several falls at home and after a hospital admission. Mum had obvious reservations about going into a home after being so independent for so long but credit to her, she threw herself into everything and boy did it pay off. Mum loves it, loves the company, loves the activities and everything The carers are exceptional both in their care and in keeping family informed. The activity coordinators are fantastic in coming up with different things for all to do. The place is spotlessly clean and I would recommend it to anyone.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We will pass this on to our Care and Activity Staff.
I have seen many care homes that do not come anywhere near the standards of care and activities supplied by Towell House.
To all the staff and anyone providing an excellent home, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review. It is lovely for our staff to receive such a positive review.
After an apprehensive first couple of days, she very quickly settled in mainly due to the kind reception she received from all the staff.
It was her first experience of assisted living and to our surprise, she has taken to it like a duck to water.
She loves the routine every single day as she says she knows exactly what is happening.
The social events are her favourite thing from knit and natter to ball games to the singers who come, she loves them all and joins in with everything that is happening.
When she was at home she wanted us her family to be with her 24/7, now it makes us laugh because she tells us not to visit because a social event is on.
I would like to personally thank all staff for the care and kindness they show daily.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. We will pass this on to the staff.
He has always been a very positive person in my eyes and always loves a good wind-up, especially on the staff who always give as good as they get.
I always look forward to seeing him in this warm, friendly and very obliging residency and I can always sleep peacefully in my bed at night knowing my brother is in safe hands. I most certainly would recommend Towell House to anyone who has a loved one or friend who is in need of that special touch of care.
Thank you all so much for looking after my big brother.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is very encouraging to receive such positive feedback.
Care staff continue to provide a good service, and the home, grounds and activities remain excellent. However, management communication with families is non-existent. The managers appear inexperienced and leadership currently appears to be absent.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, management has no input once the hospital has deemed a resident unfit to return. The assessment carried out by the HSC staff is final. This bears no reflection on the management of our home. It is due process. Again thank you for taking the time to review and I am glad you are happy with the home overall.
My grandad absolutely loved Towell House, he passed peacefully last Monday. We as a family can't thank the staff enough. We will always be thankful for the help he got from the moment he stepped in the door until he passed. He never had a bad word to say about his time in Towell House. He had a good relationship with all staff members (maybe more than some) but he settled in well and got on with everyone as he had a heart of gold. I know Towell House has lost a good man but he will never leave those who helped him and cared for him. Again, thank you and God Bless.
Thank you for your kind words, a lovely gentleman, will be missed.
My parents came to Towell House a few years ago and have been treated with dignity and respect since Day 1. The staff and management have one focus - the care and well being of the residents. The staff's dedication really came to life during COVID, at times making some difficult and unpopular decisions but always with the best intentions. We often commented that Mum and Dad had more of a social life than us with all the fun activities and the hilarious antics of the staff during super difficult times.
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review. It is lovely for our staff to receive such a positive review, especially now during these unprecedented times.
to myself, in a very important part of my Mother's future wellbeing and future life. It was probably the most difficult time for this to happen, as it was the second phase of Covid, but the home made it as seamless as possible for all concerned.
Thank you for your very positive review. We aim to ensure the transition to becoming a resident of our home takes place as smoothly as possible.
Towell House goes above and beyond to look after its residents, not only their physical needs, but also keeping them stimulated, they have a great programme of entertainment for them each week, keeping them interested, occupied and alert. During this terrible time of pandemic, it has been exceptionally hard, they have done everything possible to keep the residents safe, and where possible, in touch with family.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is very encouraging to receive such positive feedback.
During this horrible pandemic time, it has been impossible to visit the home but have enjoyed watching all the activities every day on Facebook. Such a happy place and the staff deserve full credit for all their hard work and commitment. It’s satisfying to see my relative enjoying herself with a smile. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review.
As a family, we've had a very negative experience of the care and compassion afforded to residents and their families by Towell House. The management is very focused on outward PR and social media posts that they use as the primary proof of residents wellbeing yet our experience, both prior to Covid and throughout the pandemic was very poor. Communication with family is very limited, impersonal and we were made to feel like a burden when asking for support with our dad's deteriorating physical and mental health and when multiple personal items went missing. A large number of residents means there was no personalised care to meet our dad's needs. Despite being a residential home that claims to be suitable for dementia residents, this was not apparent in our dad's care which was also the view of his social worker. Having now moved dad to a new care home, the amazing communication, compassion and personalisation of the care are in stark contrast to our experience with Towell House.
Thank you for your review. All matters have been investigated when reported some time ago, as per company complaints policy, and unsubstantiated as per written correspondence in response.
To everyone thank you for all you do, it is much appreciated by dad and by myself.
Until recently my brother in law was a resident of Towell House. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave him. The home itself is warm and welcoming and there are lots of activities for the residents to take part in. The management and staff are efficient and genuinely have the health and comfort of the residents at heart. Towell House is modern and comfortable and I thoroughly recommend it.
Thank you for your lovely review. It's most encouraging to receive such positive feedback, Eva.
Having seen my mother settle so quickly into Towell House has been very reassuring to us as a family. The friendliness of all the staff, the good quality accommodation and food have been consistent. There is a range of activities almost every day, both morning and afternoons. There is excellent communication between Towell House and the family and I highly rate this care home.
Thank you for your very positive review. We aim to ensure the transition to becoming a resident of our home takes place as smoothly as possible. Striving to ensure our residents have a positive experience from the day of admission is very important to us. We as a service provider welcome all feedback and communication from residents and families.
