If like me, you don't know where to start when looking for a nursing home - my advice is to go straight to Saint Aubyns. I visited many, and it's different to others. It always smells fresh, staff are very kind and helpful, and as soon as I walked in to look around, it was the biggest relief that actually brought tears to my eyes as I knew that I had finally found the place that I would be happy for my Dad to be. Sometimes with things, you just know - Saint Aubyns is that place. Looking back now at photos of my beloved Dad over 2 years since having a devastating stroke, the last 18 months of which were spent at Saint Aubyns, I can see how he thrived there. Always so cared for, with clean clothes, hair actually styled daily and activities if he wanted them. He was genuinely happy there, and we are so grateful to the home manager, office manager, nurses and care staff for being his 24/7 family when we weren't there.

Thank you so much

The care, kindness and compassion shown by the team to my dad over the thirteen months whilst he was a resident was outstanding.
The staff and management are professional, supportive and provide a warm family atmosphere, not only to dad, but to family members and invited to participate in all the events and activities.

The experienced medical team kept me regularly informed of any health concerns and treated my dad with dignity, respect and speed.

On my first visit to enquire about accommodation for my family member at St Aubyns I was met and treated with respect understanding and empathy with no pressure and allowed plenty of time to discuss my concerns. I can not praise the staff for the care they give in all respects with dignity kindness and with good communication at all times with patients. It is well led and managed with us always included with the care and management of our loved one. I can confidently recommend this home. Thank you all.

My father has been a resident since September 2024 due to complex physical issues requiring intensive support.
The team treat my father, and his family with kindness, compassion, sensitivity, meet all of his complex needs and ensure he's treated with dignity and respect. They have also acted quickly to respond to crises and keep us updated.
They have also listened to any concerns and implemented recommended medical interventions to allieviate any issues. The team also liaise effectively with primary care to arrange requited hospital apts and transport.
We have also been impressed by the activities available for residents and Carers for example music from outside artists and the panto. The team also have a sense of humour which is key to creating a warm environment. The food is also excellent.

As a Social Worker I frequently visit homes in the area and this is certainly one of the best.

My dad has been at St Aubyns for just over a year, and I honestly couldn't be more grateful for the care he receives. The staff are amazing - professional, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced - but what really stands out is how genuinely they care about dad and his wellbeing. His needs are always met, and whenever extra care or attention is required, someone is always on hand. It's reassuring to know he is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect every day. I would highly recommend St Aubyns to anyone looking for exceptional nursing care.

Following a stroke my husband lives at St Aubyns for approx 6 months. He was cared for with kindness. As his level of needs changed this was catered for and the allocation of a different room on the ground floor was provided. This complex medical conditions were monitored professionally by the nurses and assistance was sought when needed. I felt my husband was safe and well cared for. He liked the staff as they were approachable and always will be of help if they could. His choice of food was available with puddings and lots of tea.

I was initially sceptical of St Aubyns Nursing Home as I had visited care homes but they soon won me over. My father had complex needs and the staff always went above and beyond. If you require a nursing home with dementia need, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I can't speak highly enough of St Aubyns. My mum spent her final months here and the care she received was exceptional. The nursing staff kept us informed at all times with everything that was going on with Mum. So much so they contacted me and sister when Mum's breathing changed so we were there when MUm took her final breath. And they were so kind and considerate when Mum passed.

A big big thank you to everyone at Sy Aubyns, we cannot thank you enough.

I would like to thank everyone at the care home for the love and care they showed my mum and us as a family. She was only there for a short time but was looked after with so much respect and kindness.
She sadly passed away yesterday morning with her family around her.
The home made this difficult and emotional time easier to bear with such compassion, generosity and hospitality, keeping us supplied with tea/coffee and snacks throughout 2 long days and nights.
This made the loss of our much-loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother so much easier to bear.

Once again thank you to all the staff at St Aubyn's.

All staff are really polite and do their best to include residents and give them a sense of routine. My nan's condition has improved since being in this home for four years. Her wellbeing is in the best interest of the staff members and I am glad she's happy and safe.

We want as a family to say a big thank you to all the staff of St Aubyns. The care, professionalism, love, respect, understanding and compassion that was given to our father was above and beyond. It was also shown to us as a family throughout his stay. On the last day, they were very attentive, making sure all our father's needs were met and also ours as a family; they couldn’t have done more. You are a fantastic team; we will miss you all too.

I cannot thank all the team at St Aubyns enough for how they cared for my grandmother in her final days.
They all went above and beyond and treated her like family. My nan was a fiercely independent woman her entire life, and we knew that going to a home would be difficult for her, but her care was too complex for us to manage.
She was treated with dignity and respect, communication was excellent, and in her final moments, we were all there with her, being supported by this excellent and loving team. She was comfortable, clean and content, being treated to her favourite things.
Their commitment to their residents is astounding.

For one of the most difficult phases of our lives, it was made so much easier to manage with St Aubyns, who took care of us too in our darkest moments. I really can’t put it into words how amazing they are.

Quite nice - but there are problems about conversing. Sometimes do not get more to eat if you want it. Not a lot of activities as the activity lady is called to do other jobs. The more vulnerable are attended to first.

St. Aubyns is amazing. My mum is cared for like she is family. My mum's aides are angels. I live a long way away but am comforted by knowing she is cared for so much. Home-cooked food is served: soups, desserts, and roast dinners as well as old favorites and sandwiches; there's always tea and cakes or biscuits and snacks for visitors. The Christmas party is brilliant! The staff put on a show for residents and their family members and there's so much delicious food for everyone - I look forward to it every year and plan my visits around it. This home is real and just like the times the residents remember. It might not be the fanciest to look at but what's more important is how the residents feel and how they are treated. I looked at many, many homes for my mum - lots were fancy with piano bars and all mod cons my mum has never been to a piano bar in her life! I am blessed to have found St. Aubyns. 100% highly recommend to anyone.

As a family, we cannot thank the St Aubyns staff enough for taking care of our father. He was bed-bound and could barely move following a stroke. All his care focussed on him. Before he moved in, they spoke to us and asked all about dad, what he liked, didn't like. Because he liked to sing, we often found staff singing with him. We are a large family and dad had visitors every day, we did not always go in at the same time but there were always staff about for dad and the other residents.

There are newer, smarter nursing homes but if you want your loved one cared for with staff who nurse from the heart then choose St Aubyns.
