A truly lovely caring home with great, genuinely nice staff. Always clean, decorated thoughtfully and can see the effort that goes into care/environment and relationships. Done staff have been there since my mother went into the home and I find that very reassuring. Good communication regarding health
and emotional matters. The staff have always been supportive and are always approachable.

My husband has been a resident at Georgian House for just over a year.
All the staff, including admin, catering and maintenance are very friendly, caring people and I always receive a lovely welcome when I arrive . They take really good care of my husband despite his sometimes challenging behaviour.
He had lost a great deal of weight when he arrived, having spent several months in hospital. He has now gained the weight and really enjoys the food.
The staff are always willing to chat and help him walk round the home or in the garden when he wishes.
There are a number of activities going on weekly, either internally or with outside help where residents can take part if they wish with no pressure if they don't
I highly recommend Georgian house.

The staff have an excellent relationship with my father. I can tell there is a special bond between his carers and him. He is always clean and all his clothing is always washed and ironed.

The home involve my father in all their activities. When he is ready to retire to his room the room is always

clean and comfortable.

The communication between the home and my family is first class. We are always involved in any decision making.

I visit my old university friend from time to time. On each occasion I have been warmly welcomed and I have witnessed great kindness and care being shown to my friend by all members of staff. She was very agitated when she first arrived at Georgian House and had lost a great deal of weight. She is
now well nourished and so very much calmer

A very welcoming experience for me as a visitor.
For my Cousin I could not ask for more. Following the closure of my Cousin previous Home, GHNH were so helpful in accepting my Cousin and making the transition with the all the care we could imagine.
Since then, the kindness, care , nursing and the
dignity shown by all Staff has been exceptional . My cousin has enjoyed many more years of her life.
Not forgotten is the security everyone feels. My Cousin is in very good hands.

The carers and nursing staff are truely caring people and you are given such a lovely welcome upon entry . I will miss going there .They took really good care of my mum and didnt give up on her right up to the very end .Even though my mother had dementia which worsens with her illness she would recognise

My mother was a resident in the home for nearly four years. She had a severe stroke and was bedridden.
Mum was well cared for in Georgian House, her needs were met.
I found the home to be a very caring place, I was greeted with a friendly smile. The staff were always willing to spend time with my
mum and chat with her.

I cannot thank the staff at Georgian House Nursing Home enough for their loving care of my Mum who was a resident there for the final 2.5 months of her life, following a cancer diagnosis. They expertly navigated her through the difficult transition from loss of independence to needing full nursing care
until her passing. We were able to furnish her room with furniture and possessions from her home which was a real comfort to her. We became part of the Georgian House family and were well-supported throughout. Georgian House Nursing Home came highly recommended to us and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others looking for a small, friendly, homely nursing home with wonderful caring staff, most of whom have worked there for many years.

Overview of Review Score

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Georgian House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Georgian House Nursing Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
