Chase House has been updating it's infrastructure this year which is helping to further improve the Residents experience. I have been advised more work is continuing which is welcome and vital.
The Carers are very caring & new team members work well in getting to know Mum which is a good attribute.
It makes such a difference particularly where longer standing team members can see very quickly when there is a change in how Mum is & do something about it. The Nurses underpin this and are good at getting involved when necessary. None of this is possible without hard work from the Kitchen Team, Housekeeping & Maintenance, they all add value in looking after Mum.
A busy Activities Team work very hard throughout the year to entertain the Residents. They are so vital in keeping the Residents interested & smiling.
It's not easy caring for elderly people with declining health or mobility, & especially dementia. I confirm that without Chase House I wouldn't still have Mum. Thankyou
Reply from Samantha Clare, Home Manager at Chase HouseThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're incredibly grateful for your kind words and for the trust you place in Chase House.
It's wonderful to hear that the ongoing infrastructure improvements are making a positive difference and we appreciate your support as this important work continues. Your recognition of our carers, nurses and wider teams from kitchen, activities and housekeeping to maintenance truly means a great deal. Everyone plays a vital role and it's heartening to know their dedication and teamwork are felt so clearly by residents and families alike. I will be sure to pass this on to the whole team.

My family member has always received the most wonderful care and compassion, given by dedicated and very hard working staff who genuinely treat all residents in a positive and friendly manner.
Any concerns or issues can always be addressed with Management and dealt with quickly.
Great food choices and
varied activities. The home has a comfortable and warm feeling and the staff cope very well considering its not a purpose built modern building.
Beautiful garden and grounds which in the summer is well used. Management and staff have really made many positive and noticeable changes, all for the good.

Mum has settled in really well.
The staff are very caring , professional and always there if you need a chat as a visitor i feel made very welcome . The home is in a lovely setting large garden plenty of space can't wait to be out side in the warmer months whilst visiting mum. They have activities
each day ,eg bingo, exercise , quizes ,beauty nails and pampering one to one, flower arranging where the flowers can be seen around the home looking beautiful. I have got to know a few residents so it's nice to have a chat with them when I visit mum. It's also lovely to be able to stay for lunch they invite familes of the residents to join in for xmas celebrations, valentines, birthdays any special occasion.
It's lovely to be able to see Mum doing more joining in feeling part of a group as to being on her own. I have noticed a vast improvement in her well being.
I would recommend Chase House I have been so impressed with all it's facilities .

Chase House was invaluable in meeting mums needs without any hesitation. At a time when mum was at her most vulnerable, this care home provided care without question. Following a more serious stroke they didn't hesitate in allowing mum to return from hospital to end her 85 years with dignity and compassion.
We will forever be indebted to Chase House for the love and care shown to mum and our family.

Access to the home is difficult due to unmade up road. Age of the building brings its own constraints but the best use of what is available has been made. Staff are warm, welcoming and sensitive to the needs of residents. At times more staff would help give residents more time 1 to 1. Activities are
varied and residents are able to and encouraged to join in. The home feels very secure and access to the large garden has recently been made safer with fencing and changes to landscaping. Nursing staff are excellent and well informed. Staff training appears to be improving and an excellent recruitment plan seems to be working well.
Reply from Sergiu Oproescu, Clinical Deputy Manager at Chase HouseThank you so much for your review and kind words. We really appreciate your feedback and the support. Will make sure your feedback is shared with the team . Here at Chase House we strive to ensure a high quality of care and appropriate improvements are made for the residents and their loved ones.

We have been very happy with the care our mother has received at Chase House. The staff are very helpful and can't do enough for my mother who has Alzheimer's and can be difficult. Chase House is clean and always smells fresh unlike some care homes. Mum receives an excellent level of care. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have had extensive experience of working with local care homes as volunteers and outreach from our church. I cannot name any of the 30+ homes I know of that could do a better job of caring for my wife now she has experience her second major stroke than Chase House. They have been responsive
to our concerns and any issues that arise normally in a busy care environment.

Very happy with ongoing care of my mother. In addition, the nurses were very happy to accept our formal confirmation to accept the flu jab without filling in the forms. Happy with our other queries about Mum's health

Mum, aged 90, was sent here for convalescence by the NHS after sustaining a fractured left wrist and sacrum. I was disappointed it was so far from her home and myself - but looking up their website was pleasantly surprised to see their scope of expertise and knew (being a retired and former nurse myself),
that they were more than capable of dealing with Mother's needs!
Sadly due to the Coronavirus pandemic I never saw her room or the inside of the home due to 15 minutes appointments held "weather permitting" in the garden!
But you can tell a lot from a garden when you see a lovely little menagerie of doves, tortoises, Koi pond, and I think they were called Duga from Chile (cross between hamster and rats - (they had tails!). Lovely well kept gardens and a welcome cup of tea in best china teapot, cups and saucers and service with a smile from their Activities Organiser!
Also, of note had to be the peace/contentment I noticed among both patients and the staff, whatever they were doing.

My cousin has been at Chase house for some time. The home staff from the Director and all her staff are always of the top quality. You worry when relatives go into a home but not, in this case, it is brilliant. There is always staff about and the way they treat the residents is very kind and caring.

We needed emergency respite for my mum who has Multiple Sclerosis, when my dad (who is her main carer) was admitted as an emergency to hospital. It was my mum's first time in respite and the staff at Chase House, without exception, were wonderful with her - patient, kind, understanding and priding themselves
on very personalised care. They all did everything possible to ease her (and my) anxiety and to ensure she had the most positive experience possible. The support offered by Matron and her team in arranging a quick admission, sorting out transport and generally offering advice and emotional support was amazing. I couldn't recommend the team here highly enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.079) out of 10 for Chase House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.479 for Chase House is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.479
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chase House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
