My son Dev was admitted in Aldersmead Care Home on a temporary basis on the 13th November 2025.

I've never had any complaints or reported any unsatisfactory situations. My son Dev as been well looked after, well cared for, and still is. Dev feels comfortable and well fed. I would like to thank all members of staff at Aldersmead Care Home for the care, comfort and cleanliness they have all offered Dev. I am indeed very grateful for their help, support, care and well-being they offer Dev.

My husband came in Sept 25 for a 2 week respite. We as a family realised that he needed care far more than I could give him at home.
The care is fantastic, lovely carers and staff.

He is very content and happy living here and I as his wife, can just love him again, rather than be his carer.

Why Aldersmead Stands Out: Exceptional Care and a Welcoming Environment.
We recently visited a close friend who has become a resident at Aldersmead following health challenges, and we were deeply impressed by the quality of care and the welcoming environment. The home is immaculate, creating a sense of comfort and reassurance from the moment you arrive. Alison greeted us warmly, and it was clear that the entire team is happy and motivated-a true reflection of excellent leadership.
Our friend appeared relaxed and content, which was wonderful to see after a difficult period. She spoke very highly of the staff and expressed how much she enjoys living at Aldersmead. Her ensuite room is beautifully maintained and equipped with everything she needs, ensuring dignity and convenience at all times.

The professionalism and friendliness of the staff are outstanding. Having worked in the care sector myself, I can confidently say that Aldersmead sets an exceptional standard.

Both my Father & Mother were residents in Aldersmead care home in the last 4 weeks.
Sadly my Farther was there for 10 days before he passed away and he had respite and the end of life care due to heart failure.
My Mother was suddenly taken ill when my Father was in Aldersmead and joined him there for 3 weeks respite care.
The quality of the nursing care was excellent and I can't tell you how lovely all the staff from the Home Manager to the cleaner were with both my parents.
The food was very good too and nothing was ever too much trouble. If my Mum wanted a cup of tea and some company in the middle of the night one of nurses or carers were always around for her.
The fees were lower than you would expect for a nursing home like this and I thought were excellent value.

Overall I would give everyone at Aldersmead 10/10 and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone and particularly needing nursing care.

My oldest dearest friend recently required urgent admittance. Very fortunately Aldersmead was available. From the very first contact attempting to speed assessment and admission, begun on a Friday Bank Holiday weekend, every single member of staff has been kind, helpful understanding, patient and empathetic. My friend has been there a fortnight. They are consistently doing everything possible re food, accommodation and most of all human contact to make a difficult situation as gentle and as pleasant as possible under difficult circumstances. All staff have been really kind and welcoming to me and other visitors. They are assisting in every possible way to make her room as comfortable and homelike as possible. Not only have they gone the extra mile - but every single one from maintenance to kitchen, cleaning, carers, nursing and management have gone the extra marathon!

If you are considerin a place for a loved one, or even for yourself, I unreservedly recommend Aldersmead

The staff at Aldersmead are simply wonderful! They are of course really professional and very efficient in dealing with all situations. And they offer regular communication about any issues that arise, and always respond to queries very quickly. But at least as important is that they are all so friendly and helpful - from the senior staff, to the nurses, care support team, cleaning staff and the handyman. It's so reassuring that mum is looked after so well. Thank you everyone.

My family member has really settled well in this lovely caring care home. The ladies organise some great activities, there were ducklings just hatched yesterday! The residents love it! The chef and his catering team produce excellent food, presented beautifully. I find this to be a very person centered home and all residents are treated individually. Management are great. It's a five star review from me!

My grandfather was placed in this care home for 2 weeks of respite. Those two weeks were outstanding. The care he received and how well he was looked after, was just amazing. The staff at Aldersmead are all fabulous. The receptionists are always so bubbly, always make time for a chat, and make you feel so welcome. The carers are always so busy but they always put the residents first and they work so hard. The nurses always go above and beyond and nothing is of any trouble to any of these members of staff.

I honestly recommend Aldersmead nursing home to anyone. This home is filled with love and care and that is what we want for our loved ones.

The staff at this home are extraordinarily caring. From the moment you enter the premises, you are made to feel welcome. The main lounge, where the residents spend much of their day, is bright and warm and the staff do their utmost to make the residents feel welcome and cared for. For most of the week, an activity is going on in the morning, e.g., bingo or games that can be enjoyed. The food is excellent and varied. The kitchen staff takes great pride in the refreshments they provide. The staff are also very accommodating to visitors. It's probably best to go after 10:30 am to give the staff time to get everybody out of bed and settled. For those who can't walk, they have excellent equipment that enables staff to get residents back and forth to the bathroom or their rooms. Overall, I know Mum is being well looked after. Great job, everyone.

As a family, we are so grateful to the staff at Aldersmead for the care shown to my mum in her last few weeks. She passed away at Christmas which was a very difficult time, but we were able to be with her at any time of the day or night and the staff were on hand to help and guide us. She was bed-bound and had Alzheimer's. After 70 years of marriage, my Dad found it hard to accept that she was going to have to go into a home and did not want it to happen. However, once he saw the room she had and the caring people around her, his view changed and he realised that this was the best place for her. The staff including the Manager, Nurses, kitchen staff and all who work there were very kind and caring not just to Mum but also to Dad and myself and our immediate family. Thank you for taking her into your care and helping her to a peaceful end.

Thank you to all the staff and team managers for the great service to our uncle, who sadly passed away on 9th October (after spending four months with them); he was staying at Aldersmead for end-of-life care, and they did an amazing job catering to all his needs, especially his dietary which can be very testing, but everyone did a great job in taking care and supporting him in his needs.
We can recommend this care home as everyone was like family, and we cannot thank them enough for all they have done.

A big thank you.

Aldersmead is a wonderful home, I can’t fault the care shown for my mother, the staff are caring and helpful and understand my mum's needs.
Also, my father was cared for in the home to, as he requested to be with my mother when he was very ill with a brain tumour, he decided he wanted his end of life in the home beside my mum.
Keeping with his wishes he stayed in the home, the nurses and manager were in contact with the hospital if they needed advice for his end of life care. But to be honest they were amazing with their own experience and knowledge so I know and saw that he was very well looked after.
The staff are all friendly and can’t do enough for you and care of your loved ones.
The food is great and the kitchen staff are wonderful too. The home is and homely and I would recommend the home to anyone for their loved ones to be cared for here.

I will also add that the manager is such a caring lady who cares very much for the well-being of all the residents and her staff.

We visited our elderly friend most recently on her 85th birthday as her regular visitors were away on holiday. As there was a postal strike we called in with a birthday gift in case no birthday cards had arrived. Nobody was expecting us and we could not have been made more welcome by every member of staff on duty. We were invited in as soon as we could provide a negative covid test and were absolutely delighted with everything!

I could not wish for a nicer, kinder set of people to be caring for my nan. The home itself is always lovely and clean and fresh. My nan is at the end of her life and the staff at Aldersmead are kind, patient and respectful, always welcoming visitors and keeping us informed. I am very happy that my nan is receiving the best possible care.

A lovely home I would be pleased to recommend very highly. The staff, from top to bottom, are friendly, efficient and caring. They keep me informed on all aspects of Mum's care and are always willing to answer any queries I may have. Mum is always spotlessly clean and well-groomed. I am happily confident that on the days I cannot visits, she is well looked after, which gives me great peace of mind.

My father ended up here after a stroke. Unfortunately, it was never the right place for him. He didn't have physio or any encouragement to get his life back. He wasn't encouraged to feed himself. Apparently, it takes too long. He wasn't toileted but had to go in his pad! He was left in bed every day. He didn't have internet even. It specifically says they have it. They didn't have the equipment for him to have a shower or bath due to his disabilities. The covid policies were in place long after the government had lifted them. We were told it's a private home so they can do what they want. He's now in a home where he gets up most days, he's had a shower, and is respected. My father has brain damage that was never understood at Aldersmead. He's now thankfully out of there and happy. Most of the staff are great but poor leadership and lack of training on how to deal with a stroke victim.

My nan had to go into a care home last July in the middle of the pandemic when you couldn’t go into view the homes etc. Aldersmead welcomed her in with open arms. She was not the easiest of residents for them at times, but they managed that by getting support in from health professionals etc. They moved her rooms so she was closer to the nurses' station when they realised she would become fearful at night and hated being on her own so that she could always see people. The care staff were all fantastic, caring and empathetic knew her so well in such a short space of time. The manager was fantastic always available to speak to or would call me back, nothing was too much effort. She always looked so clean and smart and having various dietary issues they went out of their way to ensure she had a variety of foods that agreed with her. Nothing was too much effort. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone. The care is second to none.
