Barnham Manor- A Home Where Care and Community Come First

Since 2003, the current owners have cared for Barnham Manor with genuine pride and dedication. They see themselves not as owners, but as custodians-entrusted with creating a home where warmth, dignity, and comfort are at the heart of everything.

Together, they’ve shaped Barnham Manor into a warm, welcoming environment, a special place where residents and families truly feel part of a community.

The Care Team is the heartbeat of Barnham Manor.

Continual investment is made in their training, development, and happiness, because the quality of care begins with the people who provide it. Every member of the team shares the same values of compassion, respect, and everyday kindness.

Many of the staff have been with Barnham Manor for years, creating a real sense of continuity and belonging. For the residents, that means familiar faces, trusted relationships, and the comfort of knowing they are surrounded by people who genuinely know and care for them.

Review from Patricia d (Friend of Resident) published on 25 March 2024 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have been visiting my severely handicapped friend in Barnham Manor since March 2021. She had motor neurone disease; she was completely paralysed apart from the use of her facial muscles, and she needed a great deal of extra care and attention. All the nurses and carers did their utmost to help her,
often well above the normal course of duty. One important example of this was their care for my friend's deeply religious beliefs. The managers at Barnham Manor helped her on many occasions during her long and severe illness, dressing her and preparing her, and taking her in the van to church where she could take part in the services she loved, and meet many good friends. All this was done in very busy circumstances, and somehow they managed to do everything expertly, without neglecting other residents. The atmosphere was always caring and welcoming, with a cheerful atmosphere, and very good nursing skills.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.152) out of 10 for Barnham Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Barnham Manor is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.152 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barnham Manor is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.152
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
