The annual summer party for family friends and residents. The weather treated us kindly. We were fed and watered with tasteful food and BBQ. Entertaining musician who kept the residents' attention with popular songs of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and had some dancing! The staff who arranged it all
deserved the utmost praise and their attentiveness to the residents from every member of the care team was excellent. Everyone worked very hard to make sure we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and it was definitely first class. This care home values their residents highly and does not easily forget them although some are not with us now. We are very happy to recommend this home as they offer a first class service with fantastic surroundings.

What a fantastic house we have sent my dad for respite, all staff and managers are so friendly towards him and the family, we were invited to the bbq party July 16th and the effort the staff put in to it was unbelievable, the food and entertainment was fantastic and seeing the residents smiling and
enjoying their self was priceless, thank you all for all you do, you should all be so proud of yourselves for all the care you give to all the residents, thank you so much

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. We did indeed all have a wonderful time at the BBQ, seeing everyone so happy and enjoying themselves makes all the effort worthwhile. Everything we do is with the residents in mind, so hearing such lovely comments is so rewarding, I will ensure this is shared with all staff.

My husband was moved from hospital to Butterfly House following a nasty dose of COVID and pneumonia. The staff were lovely and very patient with him. They looked after him really well and also kept me informed of his progress. They were very kind to me, all of them from the cook to the clinical lead
nurse. They always called my husband by his name and were very respectful.

Thank you so much for your review. It was a pleasure to care for your husband and we hope he has settled into his new home well. We were sorry to see you both go but understand his new home is closer for you to visit more often. Take care and best wishes from us all.

Since my Dad was admitted to Butterfly House earlier this year and prior to the lockdown rules due to Covid-19, I was able to visit a few times and I was always greeted by friendly and helpful staff who tried to give me as much of their valuable time as possible. They are informative and show empathy
towards all my family. They have made my Dad very welcome and have been supportive of both him and the family during the transition from hospital to the care home that was less than straightforward.
The internal furnishings in the communal rooms have been upgraded and the bedrooms are decorated in bright colours with comfortable facilities. There are plans for additional changes that are mentioned on the website that will no doubt enhance the overall experience for all residents.
I feel confident and happy that my Dad is being cared for by staff who really care and take enormous pride in their role. Thank you.

Butterfly House is a lovely home, suited perfectly to the needs of those with dementia. My dad has a rare type of dementia and is a lot younger than a typical dementia resident and the home have been amazing with him and he has slotted right into the dynamic of the home. The staff are friendly and caring
and they offer so much more than the usual activities you’d typically expect from most care homes. My dad is happy and safe and Butterfly House allows us to feel relaxed with our dad's care.

My 94-year-old Mother resided with Butterfly House for 6 weeks respite after being in hospital. Having arrived with very weak legs and unable to get up out of the chair, she can now walk with her walker and get up from a chair. We all found the staff to be very helpful with a family attitude. They were
always available to answer any questions I had about her care either in person or by email. I would not hesitate in recommending the home to others.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.334)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.334) out of 10 for Butterfly House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.667 for Butterfly House is calculated as follows: ( (26 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.667

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.667 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Butterfly House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.417

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
