I found the management team and the medical team very helpful in explaining how my husband would be cared for and how his needs would be met . His accommodation is adequate for his needs but could be more cosy as the bedding and furniture are worn and tired looking . But i do understand that a lot...
I found the management team and the medical team very helpful in explaining how my husband would be cared for and how his needs would be met . His accommodation is adequate for his needs but could be more cosy as the bedding and furniture are worn and tired looking . But i do understand that a lot of the clients including my husband do not look after their belongings so it's a bit of a no win situation. The meals always look and smell good just a shame they can't sit at a table to eat them instead of an armchair as my husband seems to spill a lot on his clothes. I nearly always find the staff very welcoming and helpful and are usually ready to answer any questions if they're not too busy . My only concern is a lot of the agency staff don't really converse with the clients .

Caring for people has been at the heart of my working life. At Tregenna, I am a dedicated Level 5 Manager specialising in Dementia care with over 28 years of experience at Tregenna.
My career began in 1998, when I started working night shifts whilst my children were young. Through dedication, commitment and a passion for providing high-quality care, I progressed to Team Leader, then Deputy Manager and now Registered Manager.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to providing person-centred care, supporting people with Dementia to live a fulfilled and meaningful life. I ensure that every individual is treated with dignity, respect and compassion, while being supported to maintain their independence, make choices and enjoy activities and relationships that are important to them.I am passionate about creating an environment where people feel safe, valued, listened to and respected.
Having spent 28 years at Tregenna, I have developed a wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding of the people we support, their families and the importance of delivering care tailored to each individual's needs, preferences and wishes.

I have worked in the health and social care sector since I was 16, beginning my career with a passion for supporting and caring for others. I completed advanced certificates in Health and Social Care before going on to achieve a Foundation Degree in Social Science.
Early in my career, I worked within the community, supporting people with autism and learning disabilities. This experience strengthened my commitment to person-centred care and inspired me to qualify as a Mental Health Nurse in 2009.
Following my qualification, I joined the team at Tregenna, where I spent 10 wonderful and rewarding years. I eventually decided to take on a new challenge and moved into the community with the NHS, supporting people living with dementia to remain independent and well cared for in their own homes. After around 18 months, and following the experience of COVID, I made the decision to return to Tregenna — a decision I have never regretted.
I am incredibly proud of the team at Tregenna. They are highly skilled, compassionate and dedicated people who work tirelessly, day and night, to ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care and are supported to live happy, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Working with older people is something I truly value. Every person has their own unique story, filled with experiences, achievements, memories and life lessons. It is a real privilege and honour to be part of their lives and to support them to continue living well, with dignity, choice and independence, during what I believe should be a very special final chapter of their lives.
The care home lists weekly fees per person from £1,500 for nursing care (respite from £1,500) and from £1,500 for nursing dementia care (respite from £1,500). Funding accepted: Self-Funding (Private), Local Authority with Top-up, Local Authority, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
