Peter is one of the Partners. He opened the home with his brother Robert in 2017. Peter previously worked as a Paramedic for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust and had 14 years of service working in Bristol and Derriford stations. He has completed an NVQ 5 in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care and was the manager at The Yelverton from 2019 until 2024, but now oversees the running of the Home. Peter is friendly and approachable to staff and residents. He enjoys spending time with our residents and will join them for activities within the Home.
Peter has been around care since a young age, as his parents ran another local Nursing Home for 35 years, so they have passed on a lot of experience to Peter and his brother, Robert, over the years.
I am the Registered Manager with over 17 years of experience in the care sector, beginning my career in mental health. i then went on to progress into domiciliary care, gaining extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting people with a wide range of needs.
Having worked at The Yelverton for the last 18 months, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of person-centred care. Our approach focuses on supporting residents to remain as independent as possible, while providing the right level of care, encouragement and reassurance to enhance their quality of life.

Dawn joined our team in Aug 2025 with 5 years of administration experience in the care sector.
Dawn is our first point of call for our Home, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She manages rotas, oversees accounts, and takes care of residents’ sundries, ensuring that both practical and day-to-day matters are handled efficiently. She is very much the go-to person for residents, staff, visitors, and families alike.
With her fun and happy personality, Dawn brings positive energy to the Home and gets along with everyone. Her approachable nature and willingness to help make her an invaluable part of our team.
Jo has over 10 years’ experience working in care services across Plymouth and Devon. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals with a wide range of needs, including those with complex care requirements, bringing both skill and compassion to her role.
Jo is a warm and positive character who enjoys bringing a sense of fun to the Home. She has a lovely way with residents and visitors alike, helping everyone feel welcome and at ease. During her shifts, she leads her team professionally and confidently, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times.
Cia has been a valued member of our team since we first opened our doors in 2017. With both her NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Health and Social Care, she brings experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of person-centred care to her role. Her compassionate nature and commitment to supporting residents and colleagues alike make her an integral part of the home.
Jess is a bubbly, enthusiastic member of the team who never fails to brighten the day with her warm personality and infectious sense of humour. She consistently goes the extra mile to put a smile on our residents’ faces, and her caring nature makes her a truly valued part of our home.
Having been with us for over five years, Jess has become a trusted and dependable team member. She has completed her Care Certificate and NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, is fully medication trained. Jess also serves as our current Creams Lead, ensuring best practices in skincare and comfort for our residents.
Nicola is a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant at Yelverton Residential Home, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, she brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and warmth to her role.
Nicola is known for her empathetic nature and commitment to ensuring each resident receives the individual attention and support they deserve. In addition to her hands-on care responsibilities, Nicola has also completed her NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and Level 5 in Leadership and Management, further enhancing her ability to lead by example and support her colleagues in delivering outstanding care.
Dennis is a key member of our team since joining us in 2024. He is a Senior Health Care Assistant with three years’ experience working in care and will be completing his NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care this year, continuing to develop his knowledge and skills. Before moving into the care sector, Dennis spent many years working as a Development Planning Officer, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his role.
Dennis has a positive outlook and enjoys sharing a laugh with residents, helping to create a warm and friendly atmosphere within the Home. He is dedicated to his role and always strives to provide the very best care and support. Outside of work, Dennis enjoys spending time with his young family, who certainly keep him busy!
Lin has been a cherished member of our team since the home first opened and serves as our Head Cook. Her warm, friendly nature and genuine love for what she does have made her a firm favourite among both residents and staff. Lin takes pride in creating delicious, well-balanced meals tailored to our residents’ needs, and her beautifully decorated birthday cakes are always a highlight.
With all relevant food hygiene qualifications completed, Lin also holds additional training in diabetes, dementia, and fluid and nutritional care. She leads the way as our Diabetic Champion, ensuring dietary needs are always carefully considered. Thanks to her high standards and attention to detail, our kitchen has proudly earned a 5-star rating in food hygiene.
Marc has been a valued part of our team for nearly seven years and is our go-to Maintenance Officer. Known for his friendly nature and great sense of humour, Marc brings warmth and positivity to the home while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
From keeping the building in top condition to supporting residents with their personal projects, Marc is always willing to go the extra mile. He takes great pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for everyone and plays a key role as our Health & Safety Champion, ensuring all standards are met with care and diligence.
Gail is our enthusiastic and dedicated Activities Coordinator, known for her friendly, caring, and compassionate approach. She brings genuine passion to her role, taking the time to get to know each resident and tailoring activities to suit their interests and needs.
Gail loves working closely with residents to create exciting, engaging monthly activity schedules that promote social interaction, creativity, and fun. She also organises regular trips and outings, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy time outside the home and stay connected with the wider community.
Debbie brings 12 years of experience in care and has been an integral part of The Yelverton Residential Home since 2019. She began her journey with us as a Health Care Assistant and, since last year, has taken on the role of Head Housekeeper.
Debbie ensures that the home is always clean, welcoming, and organised, taking particular pride in maintaining the laundry and keeping everything running smoothly. Her dedication and attention to detail mean that nothing is ever too much trouble.
