I can honestly say I am very satisfied with the service and attention paid to residents. All the staff I have been in contact with during my husband's stay in the home (4 months in total).

Both my parents were residents at the time of my father passing away. The staff could not have behaved in a more compassionate and caring way towards my mother, myself and the extended family. We felt we had been picked up in a big group hug by every member of staff from every department. It is what
happens when the worst occurs that can make the difference between a good home and a great home.

We are very pleased with the care home since our mum went in, she has been well looked after. All the staff are pleasant and cared for her well. Recently mum came out of her room and was found at the top of the stairs and was swiftly moved to a ground-floor room for her safety. A big thank you to managment,
nurses and staff for the care mum receives.

Mum has now been with you for 20 months and has always been very well cared for. She often tells me she hates it. But I guess it's not like living at home. The staff were very quick at realising that mum needed to move downstairs for her own safety and we were kept well informed and it was all dealt
with very quickly and efficiently. I don't think mum has settled yet but that is understandable as it's like moving house. Thank you to all the incredible staff. Keep up the good work.

The home has excellent, kind, committed, humane staff. They really go above and beyond to do their best for the vulnerable people in their care - it clearly shows that they feel what they do is a vocation rather than just a job.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother went to stay at Danesford in November 2023 for a 4-week temporary period after a bad fall at home and 5 weeks in hospital. From the minute we arrived she was treated with kindness, respect, reassurance and sympathy by the staff nurse and team on duty. Very unwell on arrival and it was clear
she would be unable to return home. Mum stayed permanently after her temporary period and has slowly gone from strength to strength, gaining weight and given that she could hardly communicate after leaving the hospital, she can now. Food and drink intake has been very closely monitored. All staff have played a part in engaging mum at every opportunity with chat, cheek, and jokes she is now able to join in. Although mum can no longer walk and can move very little, she is never made to feel like a nuisance, she can have a pedicure, manicure and 'go' to the hairdressers. First experience with a nursing home and we are very grateful to Danesford, helping mum has helped us too.

Very happy with mum's care. She is well looked after and kept comfortable and clean. The carers are all very friendly and treat mum with dignity. The office staff are always friendly when visiting and helpful when needed. The care home is always clean and tidy. Mum has been there now for just over 2
years and my family and I are pleased she is being looked after so well.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.625)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.625) out of 10 for Danesford Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.725 for Danesford Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 102 Ratings = 4.725
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Danesford Grange Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
