I took my husband for a respite stay. This is the seventh care home he has stayed in across Staffordshire and this is by far the best one he has used. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and caring. I was very sceptical when i arrived as had some bad experiences in the past but within half an hour I knew my husband was going to be well looked after. I was added to an online messaging group to get daily updates, he went bowling, out for lunch, shopping, played air guitar to a singers rendition of dancing queen and that was all in a week. The food was very good quality and i had the pleasure of sampling the fish and chips. Stacey, Kate and the team are amazing and I have already booked the next respite stay. I would recommend this care home as they love the residents like they were their own.

There are many positives to comment on about Kirk House since I've been visiting. I like the 'open office door' policy and am always greeted with a warm welcome by smiling faces. The staff team from my observations and in communicating with them are always helpful and they work as a team. Any query is dealt with professionally and promptly. The staff should be very proud of the excellent service they all provide to both residents and families/visitors. My godfather is extremely well cared for, safe and his medical needs are fully supported which is also very much appreciated. He is treated with respect and kindness as I am whenever I visit. Keep up the excellent work Kirk House Team - you are doing a great job.

Dad's care has been brilliant in all. He has been looked after with dignity. Family has been supported since the recent admission to care. Staff have been supportive throughout. Management and nursing staff have been present and sensitive. Personal care has been wonderful in the way carers are respectful, pleasant and both comforting and supportive. Very very happy for communication in changes, events, moments, especially when this collectively aids a comfortable home setting.

Our relative is well cared for and supported by the staff team, and is gradually settling into the home. Staff are all friendly and approachable, and nothing is too much trouble. Moving to the home has been the best thing for our relative and has meant as a family we know all the care needed is in place.

A warm and friendly environment. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. It is an old building so it's not possible for it to be perfect but it is really well maintained and cared for.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of staff for making my mother's transition from her own property to her new home at Kirk House. The home has a dedicated and professional team of staff, who are well-managed by their senior management team. The senior management team took the time to understand my mother's specific needs and created a bespoke care plan. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother has only been in the home for a month but we have seen such a difference in her mental health and general well-being. My mother is now showing interest in hobbies she enjoyed previously, such as painting, which the team have been able to facilitate. The food is amazing which my mother so enjoys. This has led to a physical change in her appearance for the better. All staff have been most welcoming and have encouraged us to visit freely. This has allowed regular visits from family and friends. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kirk House to anyone.

We are happy with the general running of the home. Staff appear caring of the resident's needs.
Personally, I would prefer more activities or even an outing with some of the more able residents, or maybe having some entertainment in the home ie: Bingo, singer, music etc.

I don't like the fact that all residents are to be in bed before 8pm. I also don't like that there is only three staff on of an evening, as more able residents get neglected or left to own devices a lot.

This is Mom's first month in Kirk House. The care home manager and staff have made the transition from hospital to the home very smooth. Enabling a weekend admission was greatly appreciated. The care staff have taken very good care of Mom and have been welcoming to family and friends. We are very pleased that Mom is being managed without the need for daily sedatives which were being used in hospital.
