On my (unannounced) visits to the Willows Nursing Home over the past months I have been impressed with the attentive Nursing Staff and Carers in their comprehensive support offered to mum. I am very pleased that The Willows in Market Harborough was chosen. Mum is ver happy there. Thank You.

My mother moved to the Willows in January 2020 to be with my father who had moved there from hospital in December 2019. Their care was excellent and visiting was at any time. The staff were always available to discuss any concerns I had and were very supportive. As Covid restrictions then came into
play, visiting was no longer possible and my father died in April 2020. My mother was supported through this extremely distressing time for her and all the family. I was kept informed of her physical and mental health throughout and a nurse was always available to talk to me. A monthly review of her care plan reassured me of her health. Since visiting restarted in April, I have been able to plan my visits easily and my mother appears to be well cared for in all respects. The carers are always kind and respectful to her and our extended family. All the staff have been exemplary in their care and commitment to my mother's wellbeing. They do their very best to accommodate my requests.

Mum is not the easiest person to look after and can have an aggressive temperament at times. All the staff do a fantastic job of balancing Mum's needs, whilst nurturing her moods and cooperation. Apart from her dementia, Mum's general health has remained pretty good throughout her time at the Willows.
The staff are always happy and welcoming when we visit and appear to have a genuine affection for the residents. I've got nothing but praise and gratitude for all they do and it gives our family great comfort to know Mum is being so well looked after. We will always be grateful to the Willows for making Mum's last few years as comfortable as they can be.

The Willows is a wonderful place. We were worried that my Mum would not settle down (we had a bad experience with my Dad at a different care home), but she loves being there. The Willows has the ethos of a homely, family-run home. The food is very good (says Mum) and the 'carers' really do care. Knowing
that Mum is being so well looked after is a great relief to me and my sister.

A pleasant atmosphere and wonderfully caring team. The Willows has a really homely feel and always feels well organised with lots of activities to join in with. My relative enjoys the wide choice and varied menu here. The care team know my relative well and always keep me updated with any changes regarding
their (my relatives) care.

The staff in the care home are very professional and give the resident excellent nursing care as well as personal care. They support the resident and foster a cheerful and friendly atmosphere at all times. I would recommend this home to people looking for somewhere for a relative.

My mother is at The Willows under Section of the Mental Health Act so it is vital that she has continuity of care. The Willows has a very low staff turn over which is extremely important for her peace of mind and is indicative of the quality of staff and their working environment. I can leave her with
confidence knowing that she is in a secure building, she has a very good choice of well-balanced meals, her food intake is monitored, her dignity and choices are well respected, she has 24-hour nursing care and, most importantly, the staff care.

My husband has been at The Willows approximately ten weeks. I felt after only a few weeks the kindness of the carers, that my choice of The Willows was proved right and my husband has settled in after a period of 6 weeks. Now I am happy when I leave, as he no longer gets upset when I leave. Which speaks
volumes to me. I am always made very welcome and there is always laughter and fun going on. My husband is fine, always clean and tidy. I am content when I leave him.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.088)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.088) out of 10 for The Willows Nursing and Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Willows Nursing and Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (10 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 10 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.088 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Willows Nursing and Residential Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.088
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
