The staff are like family members. They are caring and kept my husband very comfortable. My husband was non-verbal so understanding him was challenging, however, the staff were patient and made an effort to understand him till they got it right.
My husband was hospitalised twice in emergency and the
staff acted promptly and professionally in dealing with the emergency.
I was really happy to see such warmth and compassion in all the staff.

Rushey Mead Manor Care and Nursing Home was one of the fine care homes I experienced. My mother passed away 5 weeks ago, she was 84. My mum was there for about 8 to 9 weeks before she passed. She was looked after so well by everyone, the staff spoke the language my mum understood, she struggled a few
days before she passed and we have seen staff feeding her by encouraging her to small bite at a time, holding her plate, and making sure she eats all her food. Thank you, Rushey Mead Manor, and the whole team for making my mum's final journey smooth. Thank you so much.

My mum recently passed away last month and was in the care home for almost 4 years. I cannot put into words how much my mum was looked after. Me and my family used to visit her often and we always felt like a family home. The staff were excellent and truly speaking, the home is very clean. Lastly, I
can just praise the whole team at the Rushey Mead Manor for the excellent work they are doing and sometimes even go beyond to help out with any other issues.
I would recommend this care home to anyone as they all doing a very very hard job.

Reasonably priced care home. The staff are very friendly and supportive. The care home serves halal food, which was great. Flexible visiting times. Near the end, we were allowed to stay with my father 24/7. Really appreciate it.

I visited an old friend of mine recently who has been a resident here for about two months. He is very happy and well looked after.
The staff are excellent and caring and quick to respond if anything is required.
The lounge had a lovely atmosphere and I managed to speak to other residents who also
seemed satisfied.

My dad spent the last 4 weeks of his life here. I honestly cannot think of anything negative to say about this home. Every single member of staff was professional, caring and interested. Nothing was too much trouble. The home itself is immaculate and a lot of thought is put into the decor and furnishings.
There is a very relaxed, happy atmosphere with residents freely moving around the place, but also being kept an eye on. I observed staff members taking residents outside for a walk to get them some fresh air and also playing ping pong. I would not hesitate to recommend Rushey Mead to family and friends.

What can I say? Just felt I needed to write a review, as this facility continues to perform well for my friend and neighbour who is cared for here. Rushy Mead Manor, although undergoing a strategic refurbishment programme, manages to deliver excellent care and love to their residents, with the staff
performing to a high standard on a daily basis. A point proven only a day or two ago when my friend reached his 76th birthday and the staff helped him celebrate, so much so he declared it one of the best he’d had! When they could have let it slip away and gone about their business. I have to say, I was a little choked up. They work so hard with a lot of residents. The home is very clean and welcoming and my friend says food is lovely, as you would expect with a five star rating. Many homes are just that, 'old people’s homes', but Rushy Mead, with its mix of both young and experienced staff and the fact love and respect seems to be a high priority, makes it a 'home'. I would recommend a visit!

My partner goes to Rushey Mead Manor for respite care. He is well cared for. The management and all staff are all very caring and kind. They will do anything to help. They are so easy to talk to and keep us up to date about my partner’s care. I can not fault them. This is his 4th time going to stay
for respite. I would recommend them to anyone needing care or their family. Well done to you all.

Poor service and poor and rude staff. The staff treated my father very badly. As a result, he moved out of this care home and moved into another home, where he was very happy there. The care supervisor was very rude and had a very bad attitude. When my father moved out, my father asked for his TV and
the staff ignored him. Myself and my mother asked for the TV, which happened to be our family TV and the office administrator was very rude. We eventually did get the TV for my father after all the hassle. I would never recommend Rushey Mead Manor to anybody. My father was so glad to get out of there.

We are sorry to hear the issues you had with the home back in March last year. Unfortunately, the ownership and management had changed after the incident occurred in March. We are sorry you have experienced this, but the home has changed since that time. The improvements to the home is evidenced by the latest CQC report for the home and we are continuously working to improve the service.

We could not have wished for a better place for my sister to spend her last days.
She was there for 15 months during which time we visited her once or twice a week at varying times and irregular days as time allowed. In all this time we could never fault the home or attitude of the staff towards my
sister and ourselves.

My mother was at this nursing home for just under three years and during her time she was very homely and comfortable there. My mother often praised the staff for their kindness, support and for their understanding.

I found the nursing home perfect for my mother's need in terms of diet, medical care/attention

and not to mention being able to converse in Gujarati/Hindi. Staff are friendly and always accommodating.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to any Asian elderly who are looking for a quality nursing home locally in Leicester.

Finally, I take this opportunity to thank all the staff there for making my mother's stay comfortable and enjoyable as far as possible.

To commit your mother to a home must be one of the most difficult times of your life. The guilt is almost unbearable. This is more stressful when you are looking for a home to meet your mother's cultural and language needs. However, Rushey Mead Manor takes all this stress away. Under excellent management,
my mother is being treated as a human being. She is being loved and cared for by the amazing management and staff. They are very professional and sympathetic. The care, love and support that has been given is a direct reflection of this quality.

Although it is a bit of a distance for the family to travel, knowing she is being cared for puts our minds at ease. The home has taken a worrying weight of the family. We cannot thank the Managers enough. Mum is happy and content. Thank you for providing my mum with the care, support and love she needs. My admiration for the staff will never be forgotten. This is an excellent home which lives up to its marvellous reputation for providing excellent nursing care.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.929)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.929) out of 10 for Rushey Mead Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.729 for Rushey Mead Manor is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.729
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.2 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rushey Mead Manor is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.6
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
