Bassingham Care Home is without doubt a brilliant Nursing Home, the staff looking after me are superb nothing is too much trouble, 24 hours a day, and as I have 2 permanent stomas and a permanent catheter, I keep the staff very busy but not once have they complained, fantastic staff. The food served
is also brilliant, you always have a choice and the menu changes daily, as a resident I am treated like royalty, out of this world Nursing Home if I could give it 6 stars I would

I would like to give a huge thank you to all the caring, kind people who work throughout Bassingham Care Home. My mum was a resident there from 2022 until she passed away peacefully in January 2025. She was close to being near end of life when she first moved there from the hospital, but with the care
of everyone, she lived over an extra 2 years, and as a family, we were able to visit and spend time with her. The carers, nurses, cook and catering assistants and domestic workers deserve a huge heartfelt award for their work, friendly faces and cheerful going about their work made us feel at ease that my mum was settled and contented and always well fed, wholesome home-cooked meals, morning lunch and evening plus an abundance of mugs of sweet tea and juices and the delightful desserts. Thank you to you all.

My mum sadly passed away in September 2024 and had been a resident of Bassingham Care Centre for 5 years. The care and love she received from the staff was amazing, always cared for with respect, dignity and love. Many of the long term staff became like extended family, always keeping me informed with
decisions and care planning. Thank you to you all for being amazing right the way through to her funeral.

What can I say? What a lovely home, with some old original features which make the home feel homely and warm and welcoming. When I come to visit my friend I am always made to feel welcome and offered refreshments. Nothing is too much hassle. The home has activities which I always see happening when
I go to visit. As a care home, I was worried that there would be unpleasant smells but that is not the case. The home is nice and clean. On speaking to the manager and deputy, they were telling me about some of the things that will be happening to the care home ie some redecorating and also looking at putting a sensory board up for the residents in the hallway so I can't wait to see how it all goes. My friend's bedroom is of good size and also has a toilet in their room. They also have a nice little area for residents to go outside. They call it the safe garden, so my friend and other residents can go outside and feel safe.

Very caring and kind staff. My father has recently moved to Bassingham Care Centre and I've seen an improvement in his wellbeing. The staff are so caring and professional. His care plan is completed thoroughly. I wish he had moved here months ago.

My Mother was a resident at the home from 2014 until she passed away in April 2019.

My Mother was only 61 years old when she passed away after a long illness. All of the staff were absolutely amazing. Mum was always treated with great respect and the bond they had with her was wonderful to see. Mum

wanted for nothing.

Although some staff changed members of staff who welcomed us there in 2014 were still there at the end.

Communication between staff and myself was fantastic and I will forever be in debt to them for the excellent care that my Mum received and as her daughter giving me the peace of mind that she was being well looked after.

Dad was in Bassingham Care Centre for his end of life care from September 2017, until December 2017.
The care home manager, deputy manager and care home staff have shown nothing but compassion and high-quality care for my father, right up to the end of December 2017. Dad had deteriorated badly with
his Parkinson's/Dementia and all the team were able to meet his needs.

The care home is set in a lovely village of Bassingham and the setting and standards of the gardens and care home are out of this world.
This was Dad's last care home and myself and my mother were happy that Dad was comfortable and highly looked after until the end of his life.

Thank you to the manager/deputy manager and team at Bassingham.
Myself and mum knew Dad was in safe hands. Thank you for looking after him so well right to the end. Room 29 and other rooms in this lovely care home look out onto the beautiful gardens.
Highly recommended care home, relatives of service users must pay a visit to see. 5-star rating.

All the staff understand my husband's needs and his personality. They make him laugh and smile and treat him with a great amount of dignity. All the carers understand he is a choke risk resident and they make sure he only had textured food. They also understand he is tired after lunch and they take
him back to bed. The care centre has provided a longer bed to make him more comfortable. When he scratched himself with his fingernail the wound was dealt with immediately and has healed well.

This nursing home provided palliative care for my mother in what turned out to be the last 2 weeks of her life. The staff were always helpful and friendly and provided the nursing care she required to ensure that she was as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Always happy to accommodate our requests
and ensured we were kept up to date with progress. Happy to recommend to anybody else in the same sad situation.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.686)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.686) out of 10 for Bassingham Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.978 for Bassingham Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 4.978
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.708 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bassingham Care Centre is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
