Gosberton House Care Home

My dad Alan was in the care home for a month (8th August - 6th Sept 2026) before he sadly passed away, during the short time my dad was cared for, all the staff were very kind, considerate and respectful and made his time comfortable, as could be for him in a truly difficult time, they were exactly the same towards myself and was happy in the knowledge when i was not there. kind regards Tim

This care home has provided such compassion and care for my Dad during his palliative care. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were always happy and helpful. Dad never wanted for anything, as they all knew him and loved him. They also got to know our family and kept us informed and up to date. There was lots of dignity shown during palliative care and end of life care, for that we are so grateful. The compassion shown to both Dad and the family was incredible and for that we are truly grateful.

Carers always looking to keep resident comfortable and as pain free as possible, I have no concerns about the ongoing treatment. The interaction between staff and patient is brilliant. 100% recommend.

Dad came here via continuing healthcare so I guess the room was whatever was available but it was a bit shabby with curtains hanging off, broken wardrobe mirror and a well used chest of drawers. All of which are easily fixable or capable of being hidden otherwise the overall experience would be excellent.

My mum was at Gosberton House for just over 2 years before she died in April 26. She was very happy here. She made great friends. She loved the diverse activities that celebrated the abilities of all residents, the support from staff who provided these was exceptional. All carers were very good kind caring and compassionate all from international background which brought added skills and care. I liked the fact that I was kept informed of mums ongoing care. It was never any trouble. I always felt mum was safe. Visiting is open which is reassuring. Her room was lovely and very clean. Mum was encouraged to have as much of her own belongings in her room which made it individual to her. The monthly newsletter provides residents and relatives with an update of what is going on in the home. The gardens are beautiful a lovely space to spend time with your relative. Downside the repetitive rather plain food menu and poor mobile phone reception which is very poor in the Gosberton area.

I visit the home often.I like the friendly nurse . When I have any questions or worry about anything I always go to Amira always available to help . Staff very friendly .I recommend Gosberton house care home .

In February 2026, my dad's health had deteriorated to a point at which my mother simply couldn't cope. This came to a head one morning and we immediately arranged to visit Gosberton House. We were stepping into the unknown. The team there were wonderful, enabling us to make the transition that same day. Whilst we initially saw the arrangement as Respite Care, it soon became clear that he was in the 'right place'. The team there have been so kind to us all and there is a real warmth to the place that provides a cheerful backdrop to whatever challenges have emerged since.

One particular day is worthy of note. Having just returned from a trying few weeks in hospital, the GP decided that my dad should return there. We were all keen to avoid this and the team at Gosberton House worked tirelessly and patiently with us (and the other relevant bodies) to review my Dad's Respect Letter, meaning he could stay.

Whilst dad wasn't in Gosberton House for very long, the care he was given was second to none. All staff were friendly, caring and compassionate. I never saw a member of staff without a smile on their face. I was kept informed of my dad's care at all times. You only had to knock on the nurses door to see someone and discuss the care and health of the resident. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to other people.

The biggest change from the new owners and management is they listen to their residents/relatives, and the staff care for the residents like they are caring for a member of their own family. My sister says Gosberton House now feels like her home.

This review relates to the home, its management and staff at this time as I'll write a further detailed review of the intimate care at a later date. Since the home was taken over by new management around 18 months ago there has been a huge improvement in staffs morale and wellbeing. Small things like a smile, or a dress code for staff is now very noticeable throughout making it look professionally run. The management and staff are extremely kind, knowledgeable and caring in their roles and are equipped to cover most care home medical needs. Training of staff is very apparent in showing this. They treat not only the residents with dignity but us as relatives also and relatives are encouraged to get involved and take an active part not only in the care homes running but in recreation events too. The new management really do have the residents and relatives very much at heart and they listen and take on board any concerns raised and show the upmost respect and kindness to everyone.

The building inside and out is well maintained. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful; though very understaffed.

I did not feel safe at home but feel safe here. Everyone is lovely, and they look after me very well. I now feel more settled.

My mum is very happy at this care home, and the staff look after her very well. The meals are excellent, and the care is very good.

All the staff and team have been amazing to care and support us all as a family through a tough time, and always make everything easier to cope.

My mother is registered blind, although she is still independent as much as possible. Myself and my siblings have had a few issues with regards to meals not being cut up and wrong meals being given even though I fill Mum's menu is on a weekly basis. Also, clothes being put into the wrong drawers even though these are all labeled and she knows where everything is as she likes to dress herself. Apart from these issues which look to have been solved by management everything else seems to be ok.

It is reassuring to know that Mum is being so well looked after.
