Five stars for this place !!!
My only issue is the decor needs a refresh
I can sum up by saying that Strathmore provided an environment where she spent her last few months happy and wanted for nothing. The home has her family's utmost regard and nothing but praise for all the staff involved in her care. Mike.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad that your mum felt cared for and supported.
My Dad has been at the home for 2 years. This is a great home. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. They have been so good with my Dad. Nothing is too much. They are really patient with him. They also have been really good at keeping me updated on how he is doing.
Dad just arrived. Really pleased with the care given. My dad has fairly complex needs and the level of is vital - it feels just like a home from home. Facilities, decor & amenities are way down our wish list as dad just needs care.
My sister is very well looked after by all the staff. The manager is friendly and approachable and does her best for all the residents. If there is a problem she does her best to solve it for you. There is plenty for my sister to do, lots of activities are planned throughout the year. To the best of my knowledge, she is treated with dignity at all times. Her room is kept clean and she enjoys the food choices available. There are regular staff, residents and carers meetings to discuss any changes and any problems we may have encountered.
Mom has been in Strathmore for just over 5yrs. All the staff go above and beyond for all the residents so couldn't ask for more. Mum's diet is very complex but they have accommodated since day one nothing is too much trouble.
All the staff at Strathmore were kind and caring, not only towards my grandad but also to visitors, including family. They were sensitive to the situation and made us all feel at ease while caring for my grandad. Their approach was gentle and thorough, ensuring he was treated with dignity and always as comfortable as possible. This care continued until he passed away. A big thank you to all the staff! I would highly recommend Strathmore Care Home.
My father-in-law was extremely well cared for, with compassion and dignity. All the staff and management were caring and considerate. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Strathmore Nursing Home.
Management and staff were always friendly, approachable, helpful, and open with us as a family.
I can't praise Strathmore Nursing Home highly enough.
Lovely care home and a wonderful team! The staff were so welcoming and sincere with all the residents and my grandad. They were attentive and always kept us up to date with how he was doing - genuinely concerned for his health and well-being. They made sure no residents were stuck in their rooms and all had time in the communal areas. Compared to other nursing homes I have visited, Strathmore always felt friendly and homely rather than clinical/hospital-like and stressful.
I can't praise Strathmore highly enough. Every member of staff I met over a period of 3-4 months showed a genuine interest in my step-father's care and wellbeing. Unfortunately, he was bedridden and recently passed away after only a short stay. However, the care he received was exemplary and you didn't feel the staff were just "doing a job", they really cared. Having recent experience with another home for my mother, don't be fooled into thinking more expensive options are necessarily better.
Very good.
Staff care in some cases is excellent, activities director and domestic manager go to great lengths to help both patients and relatives. All around staff care is competent.
My father has been in Strathmore since March 2024. We chose it, as it was warm, welcoming and calm. That's important with relatives who are stressed! Dad arrived in a poor state from hospital and he was looked after from day one. The staff are caring and professional. He is now well looked after and happy. They are friendly and patient with him and all the residents. We trust their deep knowledge and experience. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a pleasant, calm environment.
Very caring hard-working staff. A lot of staff have a long employment history at Strathmore. Easy to discuss any issues. Exceptionally clean. Other residents appear to be vey happy. A small nice outdoor space for the better weather.
I have lived at Strathmore for 4.5 years. I really like the place and the staff can't find any fault at all with anything. The doctor visits every week so I can discuss any health problems, I can speak to him. Also, the hairdresser comes every week too for our hair to be dressed as we wish.
Continuing family care provided to my father was diligent and knowledgeable staff. A family atmosphere is provided in a very fit-for-purpose environment to mainly provide nursing care. The team of carers, nurses and other staff work together to cater to the nursing needs in an efficient and friendly atmosphere, built up over many good years of experience with the staff committed to the organisation, led by professional and time-served management in all appropriate backgrounds.
After visiting several homes in the area, we chose this one for our Mother, who was very reluctant to admit her age and infirmity, but who needed 24-hour care after a stay in the hospital. Unfortunately, she was very frail, unable to walk and showing early signs of dementia. Of all the homes we visited, this one struck us as the most welcoming, friendly and caring right from the outset. My Sister has just retired after a lifetime of NHS nursing and was self-assured that the nursing standards here were first class. We were shown around the home without any hesitation and were told to come back at any time if we needed to see more, this in itself is reassuring, some places would only allow viewing at certain times. This was not the most up-to-date building that we viewed but it had a very homely atmosphere. Our Mother was here for several weeks and we visited on a daily basis, she was always clean and well fed. At no time did anything give us concern and we feel that she was very well cared for.
