37 Rainhall Road, Barnoldswick BB18 5DG
St.Andrew's has, for 30 years, supported and enabled residents with physical disabilities and complex medical or nursing needs.
The home was purpose built, within 100 yards of the pretty town centre, giving easy access to all facilities, doctors, chemist, shops, pubs, and cafes.
The home atmosphere is lively and, as far as possible, encourages living in the community rather than simply communal living. Past residents have come from up to a 50 mile radius to enjoy a personal and tailored lifestyle which they might not otherwise have achieved.
Several weddings have happened, enabling couples to enjoy a new freedom which they may never have had. In whatever way their disabilities or associated illnesses have affected them, the positive atmosphere and specialised unobtrusive nursing has revitalised many residents.
St. Andrew's has cared for residents with a diverse range of significantly life altering illnesses and always tries to make life better and inclusive.
Highly trained staff, many who have worked at the home for over 15 years, are fully DBS checked, undertake regular update courses, and focus on each resident as an individual.
The chef prepares several delicious meals daily to individuals likes and needs. Specialist feeding regimes are always catered for.
Activities include local trips out to town or more distant outings on special days or evenings to local venues or events. Some residents do some baking, and others enjoy special interests and even holidays. Home cinema night is always popular.
St. Andrew's has access to local physiotherapy, chiropody and a visiting hairdresser. There is also a splendid library, a community centre and a swimming pool within 200 yards, all with good disabled access.
Basic rooms can be customised to resident's taste for long stays. Virtually no bedroom is similar in it's decor since St. Andrew's is the resident's personal home. Personal belongings are valued and welcome.
